Santos & Pagan = Trade Bait?
With the imminent signing of Blanco and Molina to fill our catcher positions, could Minaya possibly be selling high on Santos and shipping him elsewhere based on the recent award? It's also well known Pagan is being looked at by a number of clubs. I would love to see Carl Crawford on our team, but I'm sure the Rays will be hanging onto him this year, at least until the deadline. Just wondering if anyone has heard anything on this and any realisitic trade targets the Mets may be looking at...

The molina signing is imminent?
I think Omar could be ready to make a trade but Crawford will cost a lot more then those two guys. Also with the catchers available in free agency I don’t know that Omir’s value is all that high.
My theory is they are trying to make a move to get Doumit and they will not sign Molina, but that may be a wish.
P.S. The AA community will tell you that this should have been a conversation Fanshot
Santos won an award?
Was it the award for Best Sports T-Shirt EVAR?!!?

I've been away for a while
I figured the mention of Santos winning an award was AA making a joke and giving him “t-shirt designer of the year” or something.
But NO: Santos was named to the Topps All-Star Team?!? Something is very wrong here.
Haha oh yeah, forgot about that one.

I was beginning to wonder when I got transported to an alternate dimension. The sun was yellow on my home world.
Omar - yes
other GM’s – no

Cross our fingers that we get something of better value than either, if they are traded.

Something from the Royals?
The rumor was they were interested in Pagan, and they also need a catcher. But I have no idea what KC has that we would want in return.
Brian Bannister and Disco

just for the front office
"We're investigating the investigative procedure of the investigation of Tony Bernazard"---Omar Minaya (he really didn't say it but he would"
I'd take both for the field, too.
Disco would find an obscure rule that allows individuals to be in the front office, and players at the same time. Bannister would be pitching coach, and Disco would become GM, along with their normal playing duties.

Bannister is player-pitching coach
he has his own mound conferences

Now I'm picturing Bannister on the mound,
talking to himself in his coaches’ voice, like Gollum and Smeagol.

I'd definitely trade Santos.
His numbers in the minors overwhelmingly suggest this was his career year. If some GM out there thinks Santos is anything like a starting catcher and wants to give commensurate value in return, I say pick his pocket… er, make that deal!
Same with Pagan, though Angel has a better shot of repeating his 2009, and unlike Santos probably has real value to the Mets going forward.
