Trade For Russell Martin?
Trade For Russell Martin? ------------------------ He's considered "no longer untouchable" by the Dodgers. I always liked him, not sure what it would take to get him though. What's the consensus here on amazin' avenue on a guy like him? I'd think he'd be preferable to Bengie Molina at the least.

Lol @ the dodgers
that’s really all I have to add to this post. At least Omar doesn’t randomely decide to dislike our young, cheap superstars.
He has to go to the Marlins first
even if just for a week.
But, yea, I’d take him in a heartbeat. Even in a down year last year, his OBP was 100 points higher than his batting average. Unlike some catchers (read: every catcher Omar has interest in), he actually knows how to take a walk.

Omar obviously had interest in Henry Blanco, a guy with good plate discipline.
He may actually be learning…

OBP
Is a useful stat for a catcher on the Mets. If Francswingeasy is batting 7th and the pitcher in 9th then we want a guy with higher OBP to clear that pitchers spot and not waste an out in front of our lead off guy, presumably Reyes.
Go get Martin.

a bowl of lukewarm porridge is a preferable catcher over Ben-Mo.

Also as long as no one else from the Dodgers front office
is allowed to participate in negotiations Colleti is on my approved list for Omar to deal with, though I’m certain somehow both teams would end up worse off.
How about
Castillo for Martin? We move Castillo and open up room for Hudson and stop Bengie coming here. Win-Win-Win.

That seems just a BIT one-sided

seriously
Castillo hit .302 last year and Martin only hit .250. Maybe we could get the Dodgers to throw in that Ethier kid

maybe we could get this Manny Ramirez guy
if they pay his contract. And some guy called Kemp and another called Ethier.

I think
Castillo, Ollie, and Frankie for Martin and Kemp is fair. Maybe the Dodgers should throw in Eithier since they are getting one of the best closers in the game.

In that case
I guess they wouldn’t need Broxton anymore, so we might as well take him off their hands too.

and, seeing as we are giving them Sandy Koufax 2
they don’t need Billingsley and/or Kershaw, so we’ll take them too

Especially Kershaw
