I'm down.
It would be a pretty decent platoon.
the number one issue facing the Mets is finding that one guy who’s going to say "get on my shoulders and ride me to the championship."
If only Church was more of a man. He's a different type of animal than David Wright, you know.

Church isn't Gangsta....
That’s why he’s not a Jerryball player.

Thank you all
I wasn’t reading AA regularly back when that disaster of a trade went down. It restores my faith in humanity to read the comments from when that happened. After wandering through the vast wasteland known as the Metsblog message board, I’m thrilled to read comments from smart Mets fans.
I prefer him to Frenchy,
but let’s be real, Church kind of stunk it up last year. Maybe now 2 years removed from the concussion he could get it back, though.
Playing with a manager who is a douche would do that to a guy, though, you know?

I wouldn't say he was horrible.
I’d say he was typical Ryan Church. His power numbers were down about 50%, but other than that, his numbers seemed to follow his career: just about a .275 average, 40 RBI, K’ed about 15% of the time, BB’ed about 10% of the time, had an OBP of about .340, had a FP around .990, with a couple of assists and 2 errors.
The worst thing he did for himself while here was get on that tear in the beginning of 2008. Omar claimed that his 40 doubles in 2007 with the Nats in their big park could be 40 HRs at Shea in 2008. There was no chance of that happening, but him getting off on such a good foot raised his expectations- expectations he’d never be able to live up to. His 2009 season, with us and the Braves was a down year, but it’s more indicative of Ryan Church than the progress he put up last season, before he went down.
