Wrong Max Scherzer
Apparently there was an error in the names. The Max Scherzer in the trade is a 49yo deli owner from Corona Queens. The Yankees still want the trade to go through. -Buster Olney

Still shocked at Arizona
Anyone know if their GM is a hard drug user? Was he slipped liquid LSD in his Corn Flakes this morning?

FanShot fail
That link is to the FanShot section here, which doesn’t really tell us anything we don’t already know.
I bet Arizona wishes this was true
They have to feel like IDIOTS right now.

I mean it's not like they didn't know what they were getting
They’re probably smoking cigars giving each other high-fives at the highway robbery they just pulled of.
Arizona?
Arizona traded two young pitchers for Edwin Jackson. A guy whos presumably a headcase. Scherzer has top of the line stuff. Edwin Jackson is a nice pitcher, However, give me the 2 young guns with potential.

Yeah I agree it's an awful deal
But they wouldn’t have done it if they didn’t think they had gotten the best of it.
Kennedy
A soft-tosser but he has ok minor league lines and he may be better off outside Yankeedom. Edwin Jackson had a great rep in the minors. And he has been improving.
I’m grasping at devil’s advocate straws here. I think Scherzer is gonna be great, so i immediately thought the deal stunk for Az. They may worry about his durability is what I heard. Which was the reason why the Dodgers traded Pedro Matrinez for Delino DeShields. :)
I also think Austin Jackson is overrated. Unless he can field like Franklin Gutierrez, no way he, Kennedy and Coke are worth Granderson.
yeah the only knock on scherzer is he has a very violent pitching motion
so technically his durability as a starter could be a concern down the road, but you don’t sell low on a guy with that kind of value based on what might or might not happen to him a few years down the line.

Might those cigars be laced with something?

crystal meth?
black-tar heroin.
Cause all the weed in the world still wouldn’t make that deal make sense.
Scherzer does have a pretty cool name, also.
Arizona has had a lot of young pitching that has had cool names. Micah Owings, also.

That's why he'd be a great pitcher following Santana.
