Say it ain't so!
"With the club feeling that they're unlikely to invest heavily in a catcher or left fielder, some of the team's brass think they should spend their money on the best pitcher available, rather than saving it for other positions." -MLBtraderumors
No big name in LF? WTF? When was this decided?
I am outraged!
Comments
not surprised
but not being able to pick up any long term building pieces like holliday seems like all the more reason to try to fill as many positions with competent players as possible .

Unlikely to invest heavily in a catcher
would mean no Molina, right? Or in Omar’s warped mind is 2 years, $12 million not investing heavily?
There’s definitely a Molina weight joke in there somewhere
I got one:
Bengie Molina is fat.

Thats so funny!
Cause calling him fat is like saying Fat Albert was anorexic.

suggestion
give me a hint about what the fanshot/fanpost is about in the title, all these “Oh No!” and “Argh!” titles are kind of annoying.

I'm pretty sure scott meant to reply to robcast above...
And is referring to “Say it ain’t so, Joe [Biden]?!” from last year’s absolutely atrocious vice presidential debate.
ha touche
ok i just got that. i retract my previous statement.

First comment on MLBTR:
They should get Marquis. He’s a flyball pitcher who has a ‘thing for winning’ and Citi Field would help him.
Myself, I’d prefer a groundball pitcher who has a ‘thing for losing,’ but I suppose it’s a personal preference.

I wish people stopped saying Marquis has "a thing for winning", or whatever assorted other phrases.
No he doesn’t. He has a Win/Loss Percentage just barely over .500, and a career ERA over 4. Yes, every team that he’s been on has reached the post season, but that’s not through his contributions, for sure- he’s actually pitched only four postseasons in his 10-year career, starting a whopping three games.

You see, we can't make it look like we're pining for Holliday THAT much.
You know, act casual. Left field? Whatever.

That worked for me
until Elin met Tiger and she lost interest.
Not getting the reference

yeah, that was terrible
I played it casual to get Elin what’shername’s attention then she dumped me for Tiger Woods. Poor attempt at humor.
Yeah, I haven't been following any of the Tiger Woods news, and know only that he's really horny. The count's up to like 11 or something...
Golf sucks, anyway, so…

i'm a wanted man in the kingdom of golf clubs
i serially decapitate them when i try to play.

I've beheaded two golf clubs in my time:
a Taylor Made driver where the head snapped off on a drive, and a putter that snapped when I flung it in the air after three-putting for bogey from within eight feet.

haha i've murdered 2 drivers
one of them was just a poor swing and caught ground, but one of them was a clean swing, got all ball and no ground, head just went flying off, went about 10 yards past the ball… at that point i said F*** this and gave up on golf.
by KeithsMoustache on Dec 9, 2009 11:31 PM EST up reply actions
it's great
to have the head snap off on a swing. Just turn to your fellow golfers and say “I gotta slow down my swing.”
Will Tiger Woods Golf 2010
Involve him winning tournaments then running into the bushes with different women on each hole?

I imagine rather than bunkers and lakes
you’ll have to dodge crazy swedish supermodels swinging golf clubs.
I imagine it's because
they truthfully think Frenchy will be their right fielder for the next 13314314 years and with F-mart on his way there’s just no room for Holliday.
I really don’t understand how these people keep their jobs.
Also if they're not investing heavily in C or LF
what other positions would they even be saving money for?
Au contraire!
Bengie Molina is as heavy as we can invest at the catcher position.
"I dunno. I never smoked any Astroturf"
-Tug McGraw
So you're thinking?
All that extra money is going to go into bigger buffets/buses/planes to compensate for his addition?
Makes sense
In other words,
there’s going to be no significant upgrade at any position, and we’ll add one starter. We could win 85!
