Cedeno?
'Oh yes, I know all about that duty-of-a-citizen stuff. It doesn't go. There are exceptions to every rule, and this was one of them. When a man risks his liberty to come and root at a ball-game, you've got to hand it to him. He isn't a crook. He's a fan.'

Well, I don't know if Ron Gant ever played for the Mets.
…A quick look at his history would tell me obviously, but w/out doing any background research, I’m gonna say Gant. That follow through is emblematic of Ron Gant.

Well...I took a guess
then took some time for a quick looky-lou and nope…Ron Gant never played for the Mets. Oh well. Blew my wad on that one.

I really wish it were Esix Snead
just because I love to say his name.

Crazy Carl Everett?
Looks to recent to be him, but he was a switch hitter.

That orange and blue sleeve patch is from 2004, so maybe Gerald Williams

It's amazing
how entertained we all are by this game. At least I am.
by HotChipWillBreakYourLegs on Feb 10, 2009 2:34 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
I am "not" entertained
I am thoroughly frustrated. I have never come close to guessing the correct person.

2004 patch is a GREAT call
Ricky Gutierrez? I think he’s too small to be Richard Hidalgo, but that’s my second choice.
by jasondg on Feb 10, 2009 2:36 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Good call.
I agree. Definitely Gutierrez.
by Joe Budd on Feb 10, 2009 2:50 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
That’s better than my guess. I change my answer to Gutierrez.

You're changing your answer?
What are you? Some kind of Phillies fan?

I wanna say Reyes
even though I don’t think he wears Adidas, and even though I don’t think Eric would use such an obvious guess.

Melvin Mora
This guy looks a little too short to be Mora, but can’t think of much else that’s not up there already.

Seriously, how do you people do this?
I don’t even remember Ricky Gutierrez, but you can ID him from a photo with his face pixellated out?

I tried to be friendly...
Welcome to AA friend.
Look here Sugar Britches, your comment is about as tasteful as a ginger spam salad.
I’m not directly nor indirectly responsible for the Mets performance. You are however responsible for paying attention to what you write (how you answer / opine). But not for your asinine post, you wouldn’t have received such a harsh retort.
I’d suggest taking a look at some of the other posts in “OUR” weekly meeting place. You will learn that sarcasm is the shared decorum.

I was sharing in sarcasm.
I was not very friendly, and I apologize for coming off too snarky.

Well look at that. Love is in the air...

It’s all good homey. Ask anyone around here. I’m the worst at getting sarcasm. I actually loathe it. But I’m trying. Looking forward to some pithy comments in the future.
Glad to have you aboard. :-) $hit! No emoticons! Dammit! No cussing!

Oh, and before I forget. Let me just go ahead and give you the lo-down on some of the main characters and your C.o.C. (Chain of Command) here @ AA.
I’m will remain completely objective. Tee-hee!
Eric Simon – Commanding Officer / HNIC. “Nuff said!”
SamT – Executive Officer (In training).
King Critical – Operations Officer. (Nothing gets passed him.)
Catsmeat Potter-Pirbright – Resident Legal Officer (Heads up! You’re in for a battle!)
JoshNY – Medical Officer (Pound for pound will remedy anything you say that may make you sound like a fool)
ItsMetsForMe – Master at Arms (Crusty old salt. Funniest S.O.B. on the blog. At times he’s the veritable Walt Whitman of the group. In a sarcastic way mind you.)
Anonymous – Morale Officer
BobbyVIncognito – Damage Control Officer (When things go to $hit, he’s always got your back. If the game is boring, bring up a movie. He’ll debate that art form till the cows come home.)
Gina a.k.a. “Sweetheart” – Supply Officer (Provides a hefty amount of rational debate. Hell, she could probably drink us all under the table as well.)
cjmurlain – Scribe (The guy seems to write more than anyone. That’s a compliment.)
There’s a slew of other characters out there, but these are the ones that come to mind first. They made my first season here a living but loving hell! God love ‘em…Cause I sure don’t. ;-)

I like to think of myself as the special guest star.
The one you forget about, but when he comes around you say to yourself, “Oh yeah…”
"But it's not over yet, everybody thinks it over, but if we can just get the Earth to reverse rotation...this thing can be played again. So there you go, New York Mets......motherf*ckers." - Jon Stewart

Pingel! Man, I owe you an apology. You definitely are a key member of this Love Boat. Where the hell ya been?!

If the Mets pull a stink-a-roo this season may I seek your services (even as a student) for when I put a cap in someone’s a$$ because of my anger.
