'Oh yes, I know all about that duty-of-a-citizen stuff. It doesn't go. There are exceptions to every rule, and this was one of them. When a man risks his liberty to come and root at a ball-game, you've got to hand it to him. He isn't a crook. He's a fan.'

Reid Cornelius
thoroughly obscure; thoroughly enjoyable name
Scott Strickland
absolute shot in the dark
Rick Reed?
looks a little svelte for reed though
Victor Zambrano
I absolutely hated typing that name.

Prizes for this week should be emailed to the winners by early next week. Congrats to everyone who won a WhatIfSports gift certificate. We’ll have more to give away next week.
good job dirty dave!!!!
what a genius this guy is! er, sorry i’m obsessed with reading these blogs since i live in phillies country! I’ll be in new york this weekend cheering on my rangers though!
ooh look
a mets pitcher who threw 150 innings over a couple of seasons 13 years ago.
I’m too young for this game. I don’t know anyone who played for the team before 1999…
When asked why I was a Mets fan, I responded, "pain is my lifeblood."
I've followed the Mets since '79...
and haven’t even come close. Familiarity seems to be offset by faulty memory. It all kinda evens out.
