Santana: Opening day start could be in jeopardy
Now I'm starting to worry. These injuries can turn into something more serious very quickly because pitchers try to change their mechanics to compensate for the discomfort.
If Johan has to miss significant time to rest, or rushes and does further damage, this could have implications well beyond this season.
Quick...start talking me off the ledge.

On the bright side . . .
he’s not pitching in the WBC.
'Oh yes, I know all about that duty-of-a-citizen stuff. It doesn't go. There are exceptions to every rule, and this was one of them. When a man risks his liberty to come and root at a ball-game, you've got to hand it to him. He isn't a crook. He's a fan.'

Yeah...
I remember being adamantly opposed to that from the get go!

Damn I was just about to make this post
But yeah until he starts and pitches completely pain free I’m going to be worried. I think it’s safe to say if we get anything less than at least like a 90% Santana the whole year we’re in trouble.
Why?
"I’ve been throwing bullpens here every other day, and I don’t think I’ve ever done that in the past," Santana said Thursday. "The reason why is because we wanted to test my knee and make sure everything is fine, throwing every other day off the mound."
breath in

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhh
King of the bling come to lay down the evidence//Not George Bush, L-Millz be da president
it's not working
I need a paper bag.
is this the end?
BTW...
If the unthinkable happened, and Santana had to be shut down for any considerable length of time, do you think Minaya may give Pedro a call?
Maybe but I'm not sure Pedro at this point would be much of an improvement
over some of our other options. Not to mention the issue with Pedro seems to be that he wants way too much money.
I'd prefer to give Manny a call
hell, if we can’t keep the opponents from scoring, we might as well outslug them…
Damn tootin!

guys...
manny? boras?
is it time once again to bring up giving ’em a call?
To get Manny, the Mets would presumably have to top the Dodgers offer
and I don’t see how the Mets could do that.

One year deal.
That’s all I’d give him. And we know how he feels about that already.

Regardless
As long as the Wilpons refuse to go over the luxury tax threshold there’s no way we could sign him.
Just tell him to throw with his right arm

Hey, Odalis Perez is available, right?
He’s no Santana, but he’s worth a look.
