Well it appears all the Minaya bashing over resigning Oliver Perez was premature. MLB.com is reporting that the Texas Rangers pulled their 2-yr deal for Sheets after finding out he may need surgery to repair a torn flexor tendon in his elbow.
What a huge disaster it would have been had Minaya signed Sheets. Great job by the Met doctors and Minaya for getting the information and making a sound decision because Perez was the only option Minaya had after Lowe was signed.
Boras, however, could be a bit angry. Had he known Sheets was in need of surgery, he might've raised the price for Perez.
