Almost gone...
It seems pretty ominous to me that we’ve yet to play an inning at our new field, and its name is already in jeopardy.

By the way
There’s no way they’ll be able to clear all that in time for Opening Day, is there?

I see no reason why not.
It’s been crumbling pretty fast over the last few weeks. Considering the late home opener this year, I think Shea is going to be leveled before the Mets return to Flushing.

Whether or not it's leveled
My guess is that the area will still be fenced around and you’ll have to hike around it to get to the new field from the subway.

I consider it my vehicle.
I do have a pilot for it, though. I keep it parked it on the roof of my building—that way, it’s right there for me whenever I need it.
The shareholders of my company want to take it away from me, given the tough economic climate, but I won’t let them.

WoW
It’s bittersweet for sure. I’ve never been very fond of Shea like the elder statesman of my family, but seeing it like that brings up unexpected emotions.
I love the new stadium design though, and am glad the Mets finally have a “Place of our own”
