Cool Story

But I can’t say I’d rather see the US win the WBC than the Mets win the World Series. On the other hand, I’ve never served in the Armed Forces and had the kind of nationalism (I assume) comes with that. I know I’ve seen a few people on this site mention that they were once in the military…I’d be interested to hear your thoughts on that. Would you rather see the Mets win the World Series or see the US win the WBC?

Both my parents were in the military

My mom doesn’t watch baseball and my dad’s not a mets fan, he’s a braves fan, but I’m pretty certain he would trade ten wbc classic wins for one world series win for the braves. The only time I remember him even mentioning the WBC is when he freaked out after hearing about Chipper tweaking his oblique and being allowed to return.

Great story

That must have been an incredible experience for him.
