Schneider out Indefinitely
According to metsblog MRI results revealed a PCL strain in his left knee and a calf strain. I don't really know what that means but I think this calls for a =/ face.

This picture makes me a happy panda.
"But it's not over yet, everybody thinks it over, but if we can just get the Earth to reverse rotation...this thing can be played again. So there you go, New York Mets......motherf*ckers." - Jon Stewart
These reports have been very ambiguous
at least it’s the one position we have depth as Josh subtly states.
PCL Strain = Not Good
I had Willie Parker on my fantasy football team this year and this injury kept him out most of the year and when he did play, he was largely ineffective. Plus, it’s pretty easy to aggravate, since he did so stepping in a hole on the Steelers practice field.
Of course baseball is a totally different sport, but for a catcher, I’m pretty sure any kind of knee injury would be bad. If memory serves, the PCL effects lateral movement, so this could be an issue behind the plate as far as blocking balls or even setting up in different locations.
As I have mentioned elsewhere, I think Minaya should get on the horn and bring in Josh Bard. He had a nice season in ‘07 for the Padres, and according to BP, has decent on-base skills for a backstop. Now, I have no idea why he was so brutal in ’08, but I don’t see the downside to bringing in a switch hitting catcher to camp.
I just realized
Willie Parker, currently a black star player for a Pittsburgh team, is a sort of portmanteau word for Willie Stargell and Dave Parker, two other black stars for Pittsburgh. /irrelevant

Does this mean our better catcher will get more playing time?
