Its actually pretty impressive he was able to put up like over 1 WAR in only like two months.

Interesting
I understand the point. Novelty based on the last names. But, the analyst in me couldnt not let it lie.
Wouldnt it make more sense to compare a rate stat instead of a cumulative one since the amount of ABs directly influences the WAR? If Murphy had a full season in the bigs, then it tells a story. But at this juncture, the graph should come with an asterick, no?
pretty much just a novelty
The ranked-WAR graphs are in vogue right now. Hopefully, the graph will be more interesting in 5 or 6 years. Any short seasons are included for the other two as well.
Dale Murphy had a weird career. Slow buildup and dropoff, with a few slump years in between some really good years. http://www.baseballprojection.com/war/m/murpd001.htm
Someone over at Beyond the Boxscore should classify these curves by shape into “types” of careers.
"If you bat [Luis] leadoff instead of sixth, say, you are taking away 18 plate appearances each from Reyes, Beltran, Wright, Delgado and Church and handing them to Castillo." John Walsh http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/article/five-questions-new-york-mets4/
Dale Murphy
Pretty dominant for a bunch of years. Big dropoff from his elite seasons to his “meh” seasons.

I'm as serious about stats as the next guy
but in this case, it might be best to just let sleeping dogs lie.

How do you upload these?
I’ve created a graph in excel, but I can’t figure out how to upload it here w/o putting it on another website first. Or is that the only way to do it?
That's the way to do it
Upload to Flickr and then paste the URL into a FanShot.
