Maine A Little Better
Maine got the nod this afternoon against the Cardinals in Spring Training action and, while he wasn't superb or anything, he's at least making positive strides.
| NY Mets | IP | H | R | ER | BB | SO | HR | ERA |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Maine | 5.0 | 6 | 3 | 1 | 3 | 5 | 0 | 8.00 |
Anyone who saw the game feel free to kick in some comments about how Maine looked. He's not there yet, but this game was much better than the ones that preceded it.

Per MetsBlog:
“Today will be Maine’s first start using a new and improved, longer stride in his delivery, and a different grip for his slider.
He said he is very happy with the bullpen, adding how he saw five ‘really good’ relievers today.”
This is a pretty bold move. Usually a player/team will wait for the results before stating that a change was made in order to explain good/poor results. In Maine’s case, he has been poor and this is supposed to fix him. I’m interested in seeing the results.
