Tatis is the new A-Rod
Probably a slight drop in WAR at 3d base for the Dominican Republic.
Added note: this brings the total number of Mets in the WBC to 16. Great.

I said it yesterday
and I’ll say it again now: the Mike Piazza that was at the game yesterday was one of the top two or three Mets involved in the game. Nice to have an idea what the team will look like if the15 guys at the WBC all get injured, tho.
'Oh yes, I know all about that duty-of-a-citizen stuff. It doesn't go. There are exceptions to every rule, and this was one of them. When a man risks his liberty to come and root at a ball-game, you've got to hand it to him. He isn't a crook. He's a fan.'

I like it.
King of the bling come to lay down the evidence//Not George Bush, L-Millz be da president
no, here's the choicest line:
Moises Alou, now an assistant GM/player for the Dominican team, actually tried to get Tatis on the team a few weeks ago. But Tatis waited until talking with Jerry Manuel and Omar Minaya “because my first responsibility is here with the Mets.”
Fuck the WBC. When does real baseball start?
We've got ourselves a ball club, the Mets of New York town!
"Probably a slight drop in WAR at 3d base for the Dominican Republic."
Seriously, that line killed me.
You forgot to mention that Tatis is like, way more clutch than ARod.
But neither of them have any rings.
So the argument is irrelevant; they both suck.

Well, I guess he wasn't good enough to beat the Netherlands.

I think it's safe to say
The Dominican coaches are retarded. Really Willie Aybar is a better option at first than Reyes? I don’t understand how they couldn’t find some way to play Jose, put Hanley in center, so you dont have to play those awful outfielders, put Reyes at third, put one of them at second I mean really is it that hard to think out of the box?
I'll give you "out-of-the-box"
Having Willy Taveras get thrown out trying to steal 3rd down 1 run in the 9th inning. I half expected Steve Phillips to give credit to Taveras for his “aggresiveness on the basepaths.”

Lol apparently on the strike out
Hanley was trying to run too, and would have been out even if it hadn’t been a strike out. Does anyone else not understand why?
P.S.
Did you see Pedro in those 3 innings today? He can totally sustain that over 150+ innings. Why haven’t the Mets signed him already?

wait
is this sarcastic? B/c he really did look good for 3 innings, but I have no faith in him over the course of a season. And I love Pedro
Nelson Figueroa
2.2 scoreless innings vs. better competition. Let’s give him the #5 job!

#5?
Screw that, let’s make him the #3 starter!!
