"I just don’t feel good out there, I don’t feel comfortable," Maine said. "I’m trying to do something different mechanically every pitch and nothing’s working. I just feel terrible out there."

umm
crap?
Then again, last year he was awesome in Spring Training and it didn’t translate to the regular season. Maybe this is a good thing? Please?

What the hell is going on with baseball players?
Especially pitchers. Players are just dropping like flies.
" (Stewie) Wait a minute. Germany is building WMD's? Then, why doesn't America go in there and kick their a$$e$? (Brian) I don't know. Maybe it's because they don't have any oil? (Stewie) Ohhhhhhh. Clap, clap, clap, clap, claaaaap. "

Get your act together, Maine.
Stop sucking by April 6. That’s an order.
We've got ourselves a ball club, the Mets of New York town!

again
not to beat a dead horse but with the lack of depth in the rotation, its really hard to see how the Mets win anything without at least a good if not great season from John Maine. Given his health issues, lack of control even often in the best of times and lack of a proven track record over a number of seasons, I still think it would have served the Mets well to bring in another proven starter in case Maine falters. At this point and I never thought I’d say this but I think I might have more confidence in Perez than I do Maine. Now as some of you may know, I have underestimated him before and been proven wrong. But I would be lying if I said I wasn’t really worried about him. He is my number one concern right now for this team.

I'm kind of on the fence about it
But as of right now I think I may agree with you. Maine really doesn’t have an extensive major league track record so it’s hard to really have any idea what we should be expecting from him. He was awesome early in 07 but fell apart the second half, he struggled last year but we have no idea how much he was being affected by the bone spur. With Perez we pretty much know what to expect, he might be better than we expect but we pretty much know is floor, with Maine there’s a lot more questions surrounding what his middle ground is.
