Haha
I did not know that. Rad.
'Oh yes, I know all about that duty-of-a-citizen stuff. It doesn't go. There are exceptions to every rule, and this was one of them. When a man risks his liberty to come and root at a ball-game, you've got to hand it to him. He isn't a crook. He's a fan.'

Look at that 1987 season
It’s totally outrageous compared to the rest of his career.

He he he...
Kevin McGoey.
"The people of Houston are spending money like oil's selling at $40 a barrel."
I would buy a mural of Jerry Grote
In fact, I think it would be really cool if the Mets honored random past players with maybe a tempoary statue area that changes every homestand. Obviously the Statues would be made of, I dont know plastic or foam, not gold and storage might be a problem but this would be awesome.
temporary statues might be too much of a hassle
but they could totally rotate various picture banners
The hassle part is what would make it awesome though
to go through all that trouble to honor, I don’t know, John Stearns would be unlike any team in baseball. F those Yanks with their “tradition,” their Ruths and Mantles we got Turk Wendell. Wendell’s statue would have to be him slamming the rosen bag.
It could be a mural of all of Turk's superstitions.
Also, I would have to see the ingredients before I bought lemonade from Doc. Just sayin’.
