Oh, and by fringe, do you mean fringe starter?
Or like a AAAA player?

Those are BPro designations
Fringe = fringe major leaguer
Scrub = somehow worse than that but still a major leaguer
Drop = this guy’s still a major leaguer?
PECOTA
And of course, that David Wright rose on the third day to play the hot corner for one true team.

which is to say
we don’t know, because the methodology used to determine PECOTA projections isn’t public, I don’t believe.
We don't know the exact alogorithms used
but we do know that unlike most other projection systems (which esstainly are weighted averages) PECOTA uses comparable players to determine possible career paths. There are a variety of inputs to determine what players are comparable including, but not limited to, age, adjusted performance, body size, position, heart. Based on Wright’s comparables, 80% of the projected career paths Wright could take have him producing at a superstar level for the next three years, awesome
i wonder if david wright sometimes puts his hand in his armpits and then sniffs them like this!

HELLO HELLO MR WILPON. WE WANT THE MANSION NOT THE CONDO.
What Sokojoe said
I’m a longtime BP subscriber and that’s one of the best brief explanations of PECOTA I’ve read.
