Bill Madden picks Phils, Braves, Mets finish
Normally, this wouldn't be significant enough to post, but I had to share this:
"But the area where the Phillies most significantly upgraded themselves was left field, replacing inconsistent Pat Burrell with the very consistent Raul Ibanez, who has more RBI over the past three seasons than Manny Ramirez."

At best, Ibanez is a lateral move for the Phillies, though it’s entirely possible that he’ll be worse than Burrell next year. To call him the Phillies’ most “significant” upgrade tells me that Bill Madden is either ignorant or just plain stupid.

To be fair, though, he IS their most significant acquisition.
This is why I can’t see the Phillies winning this year: They didn’t improve themselves in any area. None whatsoever. The Mets, just by improving their bullpen mightily, did much more to make themselves better.
