Holy crap
I think Murphy just bought back one of the outs he lost a week ago.
MURPH!
Nice catch, nice throw. Practice is paying off.

Wow
Their defense is just atrocious. We’ll take those two runs, thank you.

That one he hit towards the Mo's Zone last night
might have had a shot at Shea, I thought it had a chance off the bat.

Early Lead
Hope that gives Pelf a little breathing room – time to get comfortable and settle in.

Ha!
Luis had nowhere to go but up this year. Even if it’s all singles, it’s a far cry better than last year…

Nat's Defense
wonder how many unearned runs this team gives away every game?

Amazing
that the booth can’t see the RF corner from where they are. Have to rely on the umps call to know if it’s fair or foul. You would think they would have positioned that booth so they could see the whole field….

accd to gameday...
mike pelfrey as a hitter loves to face a four seam fastball. But he hates to face a four seam fastball.

I just got in
beaut of a day out there. I hear the Mets had some success on the magical quest for fire?

i think they'd have more luck fielding a competitive roller derby team

Why isn't there a camera in the visitors bullpen? Its SNY's stadium, you'd think they'd
have camera’s in the vital areas
Pelf pitching well so far.
And boo, bad call. He was out.

Figgy's back in the org?
Good for him. Hard to believe no one else in MLB needed a serviceable RHP, but glad to have him back.

No RBI necessary
runs are runs.

look teams are worse than us at baseball!
When asked why I was a Mets fan, I responded, "pain is my lifeblood."
Yeah, Church!
Keep piling on.

try and use fewer arms.

Was at the game today
first off, I loved Citi Field. My ONLY complaint was that they’re now charging you to park all the way over by the tennis center. They never used to charge that far away at all, and now they’re charging full price. Pretty ridiculous. The food was outstanding, the view from my seats was outstanding, and the game was pretty outstanding too.
The Nats defense is awful. I don’t think that word can be stressed enough. My high school baseball team was notorious for being awful defensively, giving other teams 4, 5 outs an inning, and that’s what the Nats reminded me of. Still, good game. Pelf wasn’t dominant, but he was good, and the Mets D was phenomenal (I’ll forgive Murphy the misplay against Dukes b/c of the unbelievable 7-3 double play). Anyway, I wish the Mets could play the Nats a lot more than they do, it’s the best tonic for bad baseball.
It really puts the hot start from the Fish in perspective

Speaking of the Fish
It appears that they have come crashing down to Earth, Bonifacio and all.
I don't need no instructions to know how to rock!
I remember last year
they charged full price to park near the Hall of Science. There were shuttle buses to the stadium. Pretty ridiculous for $15 or $18 or whatever.
by James Kannengieser on Apr 25, 2009 8:15 PM EDT up reply actions
that's strange
I definitely parked for free in the lot right next to the tennis center. I remember vividly b/c my girlfriend was yelling at me for being so cheap and parking so far away, and while arguing with her I backed into another car…not my proudest moment.
6th and rising
But don’t tell anyone – facts like that don’t sell newspapers!
Also the Cardinals as a team are slugging .488. That’s just outrageous.
