Recap
- Oliver Perez's ERA is now 9.31. He has allowed more earned runs than innings pitched. This is a new low, even for him. Insert Derek Lowe comment here: ____________________________
- David Wright whiffed three more times, giving him 23 punchouts in 18 games. He does have eleven walks, but just five extra-base hits.
- Jesus Flores raised his OPS 130 points on Sunday. Brian Schneider: still hurt.
- Brian Stokes threw fourteen pitches, thirteen for strikes. He has yet to allow a run in 9.1 innings.
- Omir Santos went 1-for-4, dropping his average below .300, probably forever.
- Pedro Feliciano has ten strikeouts and just two walks in 7.0 innings over ten appearances.

80-pitch drill
how’s that ruining the team?

I'm just looking for something to blame Wright's Ks on.

Two non-Ollie things I took away from today's game:
1) Casey Fossum should have stayed in and finished the game. Also, Brian Stokes might appreciate a couple days off.
2) It is ridiculous that David Wright is getting booed at home. The people doing this can go fuck themselves.
'Oh yes, I know all about that duty-of-a-citizen stuff. It doesn't go. There are exceptions to every rule, and this was one of them. When a man risks his liberty to come and root at a ball-game, you've got to hand it to him. He isn't a crook. He's a fan.'

Same people
who are doing the wave DURING the game, I’m sure.
I blame Metsblog for everything.

I have an idea
If the Wilpons go shopping for a new GM, they should command SNY to command Cerrone run a poll on Metsblog of a bunch of GM candidates. Then they should hire whoever gets the fewest votes.

to be fair
I think even Metsblog people hate the Wave. The Wave is kinda like American Idol – you’ll never find a man who’ll admit he likes it, but for some reason it still kills in that demographic.

I got a few minutes into the first, and instead took a six-hour nap.
I think I made the right choice. At least we now know what it looks like when you set $50 million on fire.

I love Derek Lowe
put another dime in the jukebox baby
Hmm let’s see the one that got away (Jesus, Flores) pounded the one that should have got away (Doh’P.). Poetic injustice.

on the bright side
Lastings Milledge is in AAA, so only 2 of Minaya’s boneheaded moves bit us in the ass this weekend.
