Jerry Manuel on Carlos Delgado
"I think he’s still somewhat sore, more than anything else," Manuel said. "I’m not confident at all. I don’t want to be a pessimist, but because of the reoccurrence, it’s not comforting—or I’m not confident in the fact that it will be OK. But if it’s something we can manage, which is what we’re trying to do, then I’m OK with that."
WHAT THE HECK DOES THAT MEAN?
Strong decisive leadership from JMan. With gems like that, makes you wonder less of his decision making process during the game?

Cant they just DL him
Retroactive to Monday, so atleast it’s only 12 days until he can come back…wouldn’t that be the smart thing to do?
There has to be someone in AAA that can atleast pinch hit.
I'm going to speculate Wily Mo Pena until proven differently.

heh
if you hadn’t done it, someone else would have.
Moving on to Jerry’s quote — I really don’t have much of an idea as to what Jerry’s comment means. I’m pretty sure he strung some words together that don’t actually say anything.
"The definition of edge is going out there and getting a few wins, and then all of a sudden you don’t have to worry about anyone talking about edge anymore," Wright said. "That's a thing in the past. Go ask Omar about that."

I hate when they do this shit
Just DL the fucking guy already. They’ve been pussyfooting around this for the better part of two weeks. They can’t continue to play a man short. It seems that the Mets are always playing a bench player short for a week at a time before placing the injured player on the DL.
They can never just put someone on the fucking DL.
They did a decent job with Schneider, I guess, but it still took them like half the week.

It was shorter with him because even the team's brass realized he sucks
Still, the Mets are a high OBP team and if they go extra innings or get a poor starting pitcher performance, they will run out of position players relatively quickly with a four-man bench.
