Interesting batting order
No Reyes, Delgado, or Murphy, and somehow Wright is still batting fifth. Baffling.

I don't know
how people can think that Sheffield might somehow be cut (pre-injuries) if the team still looks at him as a cleanup hitter.
How can they look at him as a cleanup hitter?
Are they complete and utter idiots? Do they not watch baseball?
"I dunno. I never smoked any Astroturf"
-Tug McGraw
What. The. Fuck.
Sheffield had such a fucking great game yesterday that he gets rewarded to stay in the cleanup spot? Fuck you Manuel. I’m starting to believe that he actually is mentally retarded.
Lefty with good stuff and poor command
Think Ollie Jr.

Buffalo was rained out
Otherwise no. Cerrone thinks the Mets are considering calling him up if Murphy can play 1B and Delgado goes on the DL.

Good power year so far

Yup
He’s done a nice job cutting his K rate down lately, which is a good sign, but he still needs to be a bit more patient.
Also, just noticed Pagan was scheduled to be in Buffalo’s lineup, if anyone cares.

one day he can be as good as Omir Santos.

Lol maybe not

yeah but when guys like Eric Hinske and counsell
are going paid 1.5 million and 1 million. And Abreu is signing for like 5 million. 2.5 million is way overpaying,
True
But with the amount of games that Luis will have to sit out and if Reyes continues to have a ‘sore calf’ he could become valuable
haven't heard the deal with Reyes
hurt or being punished for the baserunning?
Thanks
I wonder though I guess Jerry would want him out there if he could. This lineup is bad.
Its still better than SF's everyday lineup

I'd guess that if delgado is going to be out long-term
finding his replacement become priority #1 at the deadline. If thats the case, I’d like to see murph get a shot there, so a left-fielder becomes a possibility instead.

I think we keep our options open.
Search for a 1B/LF, trade for whoever has the best value/is the best, and put Murph at the other position if needed.

there's the problem
Murphy at first is fine. Murphy at first with below average hitters in right and left is not.
Yes,
but Boston should first get a second, in my view

Figures
I had the Mets stealing no bases in the swag contest, so tonight they steal a club record 7

I figured
Benji Molina doesn’t have a great arm, and the Mets need to manufacture runs with this lineup. Plus, figured we’d have a lot of baserunners.

If I was the official scorer, he wouldn't get it.
© The official scorer shall not credit as the winning pitcher a relief pitcher who is ineffective in a brief appearance,
Rule 10.17© Comment: The official scorer generally should, but is not required to, consider the appearance of a relief pitcher to be ineffective and brief if such relief pitcher pitches less than one inning and allows two or more earned runs to score

okay maybe that's a bit much
but he really doesn’t deserve it

haha I would agree with that rule
It’s really not fair. He blows the lead on purpose and then hopes the offense can kick in so he can get the win lol. I’m jk but he shouldn’t be credited with the win I agree. He did nothing to earn that win. At least we won.

Meh
Its wins. Wins mean more to fantasy baseball than real baseball, who cares? I mean, I’m sure Maine does to a degree, but as far as the sport goes, the only wins that matter are team wins.

good point
still Maine must be at least disappointed. Eh either way, a win is a win you’re right.

True
Good point, but I’d hope if Maine’s agent is any good at his job that it wouldn’t have a huge impact.
