Redding will start against Dodgers Monday--NY POST
Who goes down to make room for Redding? The clear candidates are Taka, Figgy and Angel Pagan.

Is Pagan out of options?
He really has no business on this roster right now. I just don’t see what his usefulness is. Jeremy Reed and Ryan Church can basically do whatever Pagan does, only at least a little bit better.
Though, Green has options left if I’m not mistaken, does he not? If you want to keep Figgy in the pen, Green’s probably the logical choice of pitchers to send down, since you don’t risk losing him and you can keep the second lefty around.

I vote down Pagan, Livan, and Green, and bring up Niese, Redding, and someone else.

Livan is doing just fine for 5th starter so far but his demotion is inevitable.
Until Livan implodes, I say ride the old savvy vet until he breaks down
Yup
I’m fairly certain you’ll see Livan and Redding in the rotation for the duration of this road trip, at the end of which, I’m hoping/assuming one or the other will be replaced by Ollie or Niese.

Niese can't come back up
for 15 days after he’s sent down, unless someone goes on the DL(a la Jeff Francouer last year)
Unbelievable
Livan and Tim Redding in a purported championship-caliber team. And if they fail to make the playoffs—which they probably will—it will be blamed on Wright and Reyes.
I’m positive some broadcasters are going to spin the Mets’ recent winning streak sans Reyes as an indication that Reyes is expendable. Some of the more idiotic ones, Mike Silva perhaps?-have already done so.
I will not allow the denigration of the life essence
Ah, Mike Silva.
Not been very good lately. In fact, if I’m correct, I see James K. correctly reprimanded him there. Good job, cap’n. And the idea that Wright and Reyes aren’t great players is absurd.

There's only a handful of active Mets blogs still worth reading
I removed FAFIF from my RSS after that recent trade nonsense. Plus their “Mets are hipster post-punk sublimely deviant legerdemain” shtick was starting to piss me off. Silva is to be removed next – that post was the last straw. All writers/blogs deserve some leeway, but the consistent lack or rationality at these two blogs and others has been appalling.
The Mets could win the World Series in a sweep, and some fans will complain that Wright wasn’t MVP of the Series.

What do you have on your RSS at this pont?
I mean, I keep Metsblog on there if only for the news aggregation (don’t read the comments), and I think I still have Hotfoot too.

Great point.
Wright, Reyes and Beltran are expected to overcome a bogus bullpen two years straight and suspect 2-5 starters or they are worthless, under-performing, heartless egomaniacs.
you should have heard the idiots on the FAN today
I was listening to Richard Neer (easily their best broadcaster—smart, calm, rational, and I like his radio style), and every other wacko who called in was saying “trade Reyes.” It was nuts.
We've got ourselves a ball club, the Mets of New York town!

2006 Cardinals rotation
Carpenter (144 ERA+)
Marquis (74)
Suppan (108)
Anthony Reyes (88)
Jeff Weaver (86)
oh, and Mark Mulder threw 93.1 innings with a 7.14 ERA.
How the HELL did they win a world series?!
all you have to do is get in the dance
after that it’s small sample size variation

Because they played in an awful division
And by the time the NLCS came around the Mets weren’t much different.
Tom Glavine (131)
John Maine (121)
Steve Trachsel (88)
Oliver Perez (67)
That and because the Tigers pitchers couldn’t field.

Gina's metsblog rant of the day
This is what drives me crazy more than anything about metsblogs commentors. The team makes one big move in the off-season and they decide we’re going to win 100 games and head straight to the world series. Then when you try and tell them thats not realistic because of delgado’s age/church’s lack of track record/issues in the rotation they say you’re wrong and they delgado will be an MVP candidate church will be the church we had for like 2 months last year all season and perez and maine and pelfrey will all pitch like 2-3s. Then when Delgado is injured/Church struggles/ the rotation implodes and we don’t win 100 games they blame edge/grit/heart and demand for Wright to be traded.
