Arthroscopic surgery to remove a bone spur AND repair a torn labrum. I guess it's good he isn't out the rest of the year, but for all we know, his middle-of-the-order production days are over. So...do we still search the market for a bat?

ESPN says he's out indefinitely...

Nick Johnson and Aubrey Huff are on the clock.

Also, Tatis at SS again tonight

I don’t want Huff. I’m going to be watching F-Mart’s at bats tonight; I would not be surprised if his ETA just got a lot sooner.

Tatis at SS=Manuel should be fired.

The problem with that is Buffalo has 4 2B men and no natural shortstops...

Argenis Reyes could play short but the Met brass don’t like his bat

Yup

Its kind of scary, but the two closest natural SSes in the system right now are probably Ruben Tejada and Reese Havens. Havens of course, is still in St. Lucie and has been less than adequate defensively, and Tejada’s only 19, and while its impressive that he’s managed to get on base at all in the EL, his bat isn’t even really ready to play in that league let alone the majors.

there's Jose Coronado

who doesn’t look like he’s very good, or really even a prospect, but he plays ss and is in AA right now.

I'd prefer him over Pagan at this point, honestly.

Ramon Martinez should be on the way.

But getting a flight from Buffalo to LAX in time for the game would be pretty difficult.

Man Rayes still hurt????

Guess it’s worse than we thought….or maybe they’re trying to see how well they do without him so they can ship him off :- O

Weeks is out for the season

Maybe we can trick the Brewers into taking one of Cora/Castillo, or hell both since it’s only a matter of time before Hardy is out, as part of a deal for Fielder?!?

by Gina on May 18, 2009 8:20 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I think, actually, in the right deal (for Fielder)

that is excellent. I think they’d prefer Cora because of the lower cost and since he’s been quite good thus far. If we package a deal around something like Gee/Niese, Cora, and Marte, does that get it done?

I was actually joking

They ahve sme insane ss prospect who’;s supposed to make Hardy trade bait anyway, and they have Counsell who is just as good, if not better than Cora/Castillo.

Escobar?

I completely forgot about him, haha. For some reason I thought he was in the Indians’ farm (?). But yeah…too bad. I like Fielder more than most, I think.

If Escobar gets called up all I have left is Vandy.

I think Aubrey Huff

would be perfect for the team, even for when Delgado comes back.
