"Jose Reyes will bat leadoff tonight and play shortstop, followed in order by Luis Castillo, Carlos Beltran, David Wright, Murphy, Ryan Church, Ramon Castro, Angel Pagan in left field, and Livan Hernandez on the mound."

I'd rather have Sheffield in there

than Pagan, but this may be as good as it gets.

Weaver is a righty...

…and this is a decent lineup for the first time in a week. Pagan/Reed could be debated, but if that’s the biggest problem with it, it’s cool by me.

Pagan/Sheffield is the debate

but the salient point is that this is much better than what Manuel’s been rolling out there of late.

True

But how does Sheff go from Jerry’s fave son/cleanup hitter and the guy he sees as his everyday OFer (per WFAN interview) to sitting behind Pagan?

But yeah — most everyone else seems to be in their right place.

He's gotta get Pagan at bats

y’know to get him going.

Its Jerry math

Sheffield > Church
Church > Pagan
Pagan > Sheffield

Makes sense to me.

Heh, sorry

Forgot it was Weaver — had it stuck in my head that they were throwing Stults.

jerry mentioned that Shef needs a rest now and then

Which I agree with also. He is 40 years old. Kept fresh, I think he can continue to provide value to this team. I can’t get excited one way or the other about Pagan vers Reed as a sub for Shef.

What's up with Castillo?

Nothing, Jerry just likes to rest him a lot.
