Johan and the bullpen to the rescue.

Mets 5 Red Soxs 3. Who was the winning pitcher Johan Santana who else. Just when you thought that the Mets were in trouble ( four game losing streak) Johan Santana saves them again.  He is worth all the money that the Mets are paying him.  When the Mets made 3 more errors in the field tonight Johan didn't give in and let the Red Soxs get the big hit.He was the man tonight and all is well in Mets land again. Johan has been great this season and without all the errors and with some more run support , he could of been undefeated.  A big hand for the bullpen Bobby Parnell comes in the eight inning and he throws strikes. No melt down no problem with the Red Soxs trying to rally.  Then you give the ball to Frankie Rodriguez who is lights out in the ninth inning. This bullpen is so much better than last year that  Mets fans feel good when Jerry Manuel has to go to the pen. So when the Mets need a big win look for it to come from Johan Santana with help from the bullpen.

Soory about the bad spelling.

I don’t know if that was on purpose or not, but it is pretty funny.

centerpede is getting really boring.

Is there some reason why this crap continues to get a pass? I think the humor value is wearing pretty thin at this point, the user shows no inclination (nor ability) to try to improve these posts to the point where they say anything worth discussing, and they still read like third-grade book reports, a random collage of misspelled inanities. Can we put a stop to this already?

I think he peaked with "Bad News Mets"

Although “Red Soxs” almost made this worthwhile

Ok so I made an spelling error. So sorry about that. Just talk about the game or do you just spend your time talking about other peoples mistake or is it just me. If it is just me well you are just living a very very sad life. Do yourself a favor and just get over it.

Excuse me I didn’t know that I was typing this for your amusement. I put up these fanposts to start a discussion not to make you laugh. If you think that Johan Santana is not the real deal then say so. If you think that the bullpen is not better than last year then say so. Stop trying to figure me out and talk about what I am typing about. Last nights game was great and Saturdays game was even better so talk about these things. Remember Centerpede 101 is just a name. Don’t worry about Centerpede 101 I am not that important to talk about.

I'm really starting to believe

that centerpede is a computer program that has become self-aware. I forget who said it in one of the other posts, but it seems the only explanation.

Judging by the comments to Matt Callan’s ode to 1986 Mets: A Year To Remember from a few weeks back, the video has a devoted Mets fan following. Despite being too young to remember anything about that season, it has a special place in my fandom as well. It was part of a two video rotation (Ghostbusters being the other) which ran almost daily on my television for a few years in the early 90s. And it remained a once-in-awhile watch through high school and college.

Unsurprisingly, the physical tape deteriorated over time, and the screen jumps and sound skips made for a less than optimal viewing experience. With sale of the video discontinued, my brother converted it to DVD and gave it to me for Christmas in 2010. See the picture above for the box and DVD. He even created a scene selection function which can be accessed from the main menu. "Get Metsmerized!" plays on loop on the menu screen. It is my favorite Christmas gift ever and is still nice to throw on for a viewing.

"How'd we do it? Mirrors!"
I was flipping through some of my parents' photo albums this afternoon in search of one particular shot of the sign my older sister made for Mets Banner Day back in the late eighties. Though I didn't find that one — I'll post it when I eventually track it down, and I can assure you that it's Keith-themed — but I did stumble upon this wonderful photo of my younger sister's stuffed animal menagerie spread out in front of a glorious rainbow-festooned Mets pennant, also from the late eighties.

She works for the HRC now and was particularly delighted to be reminded of this photo.

Now that banner day is back, hopefully this years will look a little like this. I know it's not great, but i don't pretend to be a professional. embiggen!
