Manny in the ASG? A job for Voltron
Help preserve the honor and dignity (*coughcough*) of the All-Star Game. Manny Ramirez is a close fourth in the NL OF voting. There's only one way to prevent the worst voting travesty since Ruben beat Clay -- Vote for Carlos Beltran!
Ramirez is fourth among outfielders, with 442,763 votes in the first round of National League balloting, which was released today. He is only 34,080 votes behind third-place Carlos Beltran, who is in line for the final starting outfield spot.

Beltran will be in the all-star game
besides if he somehow gets snubbed based on the NL/fans realizing that he’s not a winning player, then he’ll get three days off and really what’s so bad about that from a Mets fans stand point.
Beltran and Milledge
should be 1 and 2.

1. J.J. Hardy Brewers 403,269
2. Hanley Ramirez Marlins 365,746
3. Jimmy Rollins Phillies 321,098
4. Jose Reyes Mets 280,938

It made sense until i got to #1
Hardy is a great player… but I thought the brewers had like ten fans?
Exactly
Also, I guess winning the World Series gets you up there even with a .272 OBP.

they also have Bill Hall ahead of Ryan Zimmerman
I mean, I get Chipper and DW, they have the track record. But Bill Hall? This is like when the Redskins stuffed the ballots for the Pro Bowl and the entire NFC starting team minus AP was supposed to be ’Skins, but luckily the NFL only uses the fans as 1/3 of the roster. Also, nobody cares about the Pro Bowl.
Hell yeah! I would vote for Manny
And then i’ll make a paper airplane out of the all-star ballot and throw it. Like ive done countless times at Shea.
Lopez wants it away, and it's hit deep to left center, Andruw Jones on the run, this one has a chance... home run!!, Mike Piazza!, and the Mets lead 3 to 2!!

They have nothing else to do.

'Cause we can't get no respect
So we try to make up for it in the ASG…that said, I recognize that getting Bill Hall and Jason Kendall 2nd in the all-star voting only gets us less respect, so I don’t do that. I do think Braun is a solid choice to start, and Hardy at short is defensible.

Brewers Baseball and other assorted nonsense (mostly the assorted nonsense) at my blog, What's a Tararrel?
popularity contest
The all-star game is just a popularity conest. It seems like every year the whole Yankees team is starting which is absurd. But to be fair based on raw stats I’d say NL OF should be Ibanez, Beltran and you could throw three or four into that last spot but I’d go with Dunn probably. Although you can’t go wrong with Hawpe, Braun, or Kemp.
