centerpede 1o1
The money that the Mets are waisting on Oliver Perez could have been used to sign Derek Lowe or Pedro Martinez. It will be real hard for the Mets to go to the post season with Perez in the bullpen or in the starting rotation. He can't pitch past two innings and when he does he walks five or six peolple. The Mets should have known that this would be a problem because no other team was trying to sign Perez. So we should just sign Pedro and call it a day. Besides Pedro could never pitch this bad even on his bad day.

I see a pattern developing.
Scotty, is that you?
We've got ourselves a ball club, the Mets of New York town!
Seriously
There’s a distinct lack of creativity in the title creation process here.

This has to be the definition of a Scotty.
King of the bling come to lay down the evidence//Not George Bush, L-Millz be da president
Scotties all working together, maybe?
to turn it into performance art.

Pedro Martinez is not the answer, ladies and gentlemen.
Do we really want to pay $5 mil for a 5th starter? No thank you.

We're paying $13 mil for a long man
Besides the contract would be prorated so it’ll more be like $4.16666 mil, so there’s that
Maybe it's like

2009 Mets: maybe its the Phillies turn to have a terrible bullpen?
This should really be a Fanshot.
On second thought, this shouldn’t be on the site at all.

How did these AA bot things come up?

HELLO HELLO MR WILPON. WE WANT THE MANSION NOT THE CONDO.
for what its worth
the writer also claims to be a fan of the Lakers, NY Rangers, NY Giants, North Carolina Tar Heels, LA Sparks(WNBA), Tiger Woods and Serena Williams. Only he spelled it Serenaq Williams.
also,
If there is a sport centerpede 101 likes on TV, centerpede 101 is watching it. This is clearly worth mentioning, because it makes centerpede 101 very different from the rest of us. For instance, if a sport I like is on TV, I generally scream and then run to the shower, where I scrub my elbows until they bleed. Whereas I hear on good authority that every time a sport Eric Simon likes comes on TV, he bakes an enormous tarte tatin and feeds it to his dog.
The WNBA has fans?
That’s news to me. I thought they just did it to entertain themselves.
I kid, I kid. Mostly.

Does the Wnba has fans?
Yes the wnba has fans if you like basketball you should be a fan. I like the players Lisa Leslie,Candice Parker and so on. The games are good and you see all of the fundamentals that you do not see in the NBA so there is nothing wrong with being a fan of the WNBA.

i reccomend going to veags
and wagering on WNBA games. its pretty funny, seeing a bunch of dudes screaming at 10 women playing basketball.

Does this argument
remind anyone of the Futurama episode where the Amazons state that the lack of dunking is made up by the solid fundamental? Anyone know what I’m talking about?.

Yes I do, I was trying to put my finger on what that reminded me of and that was it exactly.

Well
It might mean they have at least 1 fan!
The Sparks? Really?
The LA Sparks?! Man, if that isn’t a sign that ‘centerpede101’ has a severe case of bandwagon jumping, I don’t know what is. I mean, how desperately do you want to be associated with a winning franchise to pretend you follow the WNBA?
by BobbyV_Incognito on May 5, 2009 12:36 AM EDT up reply actions
The LA Parks really?
Yes I like the LA Sparks if I wanted to be on someones band wagon I would have said the Detroit Shock. I like Lisa Leslie and I like Candice Parker. I followed the Sparks before the won their champinships. Did I mentioned I like their coach Michael Cooper. So yes the LA Sparks is my team in the WNBA.

its ok Squid
we all know you are not really kidding at all. Its ok to be politically incorrect once in a while and point out the lack of general fan interest in the WNBA.
JoshNY
To be fair to centerpede 1o1, I mean, he’s right about Ollie. The Mets should have known he wasn’t going to be a great signing.
The mets and winning.
I think that the mets can win it all. The pitching has to be good the fielding has to be good. But the most important thing is getting the runners home with less than two outs and getting the big two out hit. If the mets do not improve on these situations we will never win.
Mike Dunnom
so wait, let me see if I get you here
the Mets can win if: the pitching is good; the fielding is good; and the hitting is good? Hmm…you should write a book with that kind of insight!
"This is the beauty of baseball. In basketball, at the end of the game, you want to put the ball in your best scorer's hands. But in baseball, it's up to a rookie like McGlinchy and a journeyman like Franco with the entire season on the line. Baseball history is dotted with names like Al Weis and Brian Doyle, men who have taken their name out of the agate type and placed it into the headlines, because it was simply their time."
I'm convinced!

whats your WNBA analysis?
the LA Spark can win the title if they just put more balls in the basket than the opposing team?
The Sparks can win
If they can consistently have more points at the end of games than their opponents, when the clock reads " 00:00"
Breaking news, what fantastic insight.
Why do I think
that centerpede 101 is really just some regular here dicking around with a fake login name.

Yes I am just a regular guy. No I am not just dicking around with a fake login name. I like to talk sports. I have my view on things and you have yours. I like talking about things and hearing diffrent point of views that is what sports fans do. I do it at work and I like this blog so that I can talk about sports here too.

Have you yet figured out why you’re getting flamed mercilessly? You’re welcome to join the discussion, but put some effort into, you know, grammar, and maybe a smidge of insight wouldn’t hurt either.

OP is A Head Case
I agree with your assessment that we should have pursued Lowe with the $$ he wanted.
Giving Perez this money is a total waste at this point but we need to put blame at the root.
Omar screwed big time since Perez is just being Perez. This kid always had a ton of talent but invariably would implode and self destruct: That’s why the Pirates dumped him.

Lowe was interviewed on SNY by Kevin Burkhardt last night
And he pretty much said, “The Mets didn’t want me, they wanted Perez.” Recall: Lowe and Perez have the same agent.
That just kills me.
