Who should the Mets use at DH?
With AL action up, what should be the Mets strategy at DH. I'm thinking Sheff since he lacks range in the OF as obvious in tonight's game. Thoughts?

Sheff, in all seriousness
And props for utilizing the rare “Chat” FanShot.

Totally
This is what folks should be doing instead of writing way-too-short FanPosts.

I'm not sure Sheff should be playing against RHP right now
I might go whomever between Murphy/Tatis is the worse defender?

Are you serious?
Joba isn’t exactly a control pitcher. Struggling or not, Sheff will at least be good enough to work good at-bats.
SS Cora
3B Wright
CF Beltran
DH Sheffield
RF Church
1B Tatis/Murphy
LF!
C Schneider
2B Castillo
That’d be a decent lineup, but we aren’t likely to see anything like it.

Unfortunately, it will never, ever happen.

Not four lefties in a row!
Such a thing could never work out! Just look at what happened to the Phillies when they stacked their lefties!

I wouldn't mind
getting Wright and Beltran a day off in the field.

at this point
we might as well just put them on the DL. All the cool kids are doing it.

Finally, someone who understands the difference between a FanPost and a discussion fueled FanShot.
Rec’d just for that.

I may be new but
the definition of a “FanPost” is Community blog posts and discussion. This is definately a FanPost not a FanShot which is defined as “Quick hits of video, photos, quotes, chats, links and lists that you find around the web”. Perhaps you’re saying its a “chat” but that was probably meant to be one of the those online chat forums they have with players, analysts, etc and not message board chat.
Why do you guys care so much anyway?

Eric disagrees with you
which is precisely why it’s important

You know it's been rough week
when I didn’t realize something was odd until reaching Durham. Maybe Moises can catch?
by James Kannengieser on Jun 12, 2009 2:57 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Nah, I like Santo's short swing
Moises is the RH bat of the bench we need, also Tom Glavine is taking over for Maine and Manuel is fired and replaced by player/manager Ricky Henderson, my team is now 10x more gangsta.

Rickey as a manager?
that’s a scary thought. Does he start a card game on the bench in the 7th inning? Does he force everyone to talk to the media in the third person? Does he tell Reyes about the time he coached another player like him and it just turns out to be Reyes (a la Olerud)?
Okay I’m done.

Do you really think we'd be that much worse off?
At least Ricky could tell us what Ricky thinks about Ricky’s team all the time! At least we’d be laughing instead of crying.
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but Jerry abuses the privilege.

i didn't say I wouldn't be okay with it
Just something to ponder about.

(pat on back)
After my last entry, a fan post 3 paragraph rant on Jerry, I was immediately advised to use fan shot next time. Wasn’t sure whether to use ‘chat’, but looked appropriate.
Here’s my lineup
2B Castillo
SS Cora
3B Wright
CF Beltran
DH Sheffield
RF Church
1B Murphy/Tatis
LF Fmart
C Schneider

This lineup might be the most reasonable
Since we know Manuel wouldn’t use Wright or Beltran in the one or two spots except, ironically, during a slump. I like Sheffield batting after the two.

Actual Lineup:
Cora
Martinez
Beltran
Wright
Church
Sheffield
Murphy
Schneider
Castillo

I know it's a little late for praise
but this looks right. Good lineup Jerry! I’d prob switch Castillo w/Cora and Wright w/Beltran but it looks pretty good.

Gasp, a competent lineup!
