I went over the minorleaguesplits to try and find a way to pan this move
Since it screams reactionary to what happened with Ken-Tak last night. But the 29 year old Switzer was actually pitching pretty well in Buffalo though (2.64 FIP, 3.55 tRA, 29/9 K/BB in 25.2 IP). He also has actual LOOGY platoon splits to boot. I still wish the Mets would give Niese another chance, but I know it ain’t happenin anytime soon so my hopes weren’t too high on that front. I guess it could have been worse. It could have been Eddie Kunz.

Someone in a game thread said we should be keeping our eyes on Switzer
MetsGeek, maybe? Anyway, best of luck to him and Nieve.

I think
a reactionary move to get another lefty was warranted. Its clear that Jerry is sees Ken-Tak as a LOOGY, which is a really really bad.
Yeah I don't disagree with this in principle
It just looks really bad for a major league organization to make a player move based on one inning. I don’t care how bad an inning it was, unless there’s an injury involved, if the move was legitimate, it was legitimate before that inning.

I'm all for it
The circumstances just don’t reflect well on the organization. I guess I might be grasping at straws a bit, since a player move had to be made here anyway, but it just seems like the one that required the least amount of actual thought or insight. Even if it is the right one, I wouldn’t necessarily buy it if you told me the organization was doing it for the right reasons.

I would agree if they'd sent Takahashi down as a corresponding move
But I found this somewhat proactive because the Yankees will likely present all sorts of problems for Livan and Nieve. They’re going to have to use some ’pen this weekend, so they might as well be fully stocked and flexible.

The point is
You’re calling up a reliever, no matter what, to replace Maine on the roster. Jon Switzer may have been the best option. Takahashi’s poor inning is likely a coincidence or only a small contributing factor.
Ugh!
I hate the phrases, “the point is” and “no matter what.” I managed to use them both in one sentence, the former in bold.

From what I gather
Jerry is retarded

Yeah you may be right
I just have entirely lost faith in Omar to handle this situations properly.

How about Stokes?
He is still on the team, right?

Hahahahaha...no, no.
I believe you’re thinking of Ryan Stocks.

No way I want to see Figueroa
facing Damon, Tex, Swisher, Posada, Matsui, or any left handed hitter ever. Especially in that launching pad. I wouldn’t have minded Niese though.

Here's a scoop. I hit a Home Run off of Jon Switzer. I hit 3 HR's in 4 years of college.
Me, who is sitting here writing on a Message Board. Me, who hit .217 my Sophomore Year. Yikes.

Yup. It was only a scrimmage, but it counts in my book.
He was done 3 years ago. Why Figgy is not up, I have no idea. I am going to find video of it and send it to Omar along with a Scouting Report of myself. That should do it.
