Minor League Splits MLE Batting Calculator
I never noticed this before recently, so I have no idea how long its been around for, but it is friggin' awesome. I used to to determine that if Reese Havens were in the California League instead of the FSL, he would be hitting about .255 / .381 / .479 and Kirk Nieuwenhis would be hitting about .287 / .386 / .487!

Then again...
Nieuwenhuis-outfielder who’s played the whole season healthy
Havens- infielder troubled by a month and a half long injury/slump

Oh yeah
I’m not suggesting Niewenhuis is quite as good a prospect as Havens, but I do think he’s gotten a bit overlooked on the whole. He’s also stolen 11 bases in 12 attempts and has CF tools. The offensive knocks on him are very similar to those of Havens, namely a low LD%. Kirk also strikes out quite a bit though. Still, they both have some nice power and the ability to get on base via walk.

Eh, I've never been a big Nieuwenhuis man myself.
But whatever. He’s ok I guess.

I wasn't either last year
But I kind of had him marked as a guy to watch, not necessarily expecting anything but looking for good signs. He’s still only 21 and he’s shown a 13.6% HR/FB according to Minorleagesplits and 10.7% as per Statcorner. Even going with the lesser number, its impressive for a prospect-aged guy in the FSL, and he also has the speed to steal bases at a nice clip. His defense has been a bit rough according to TotalZone, but I think that still leaves him with some Nate McClouth like potential.

I would be ok with that, to say the least.
We don’t really have much depth in the outfield as of now in our prospects.

Yeah
I’m also looking at Statcorners glossary, which I’d meant to check, because they don’t actually use HR/FB they use HR/BIA which includes line drives as well, so those numbers are actually quite similar, and it really is impressive for the FSL, especially Tradition Field, which is even slightly more of a HR deathtrap than some of the other FSL parks.
