Dissecting the Disabled List - Beyond the Box Score
Mets ranks among MLB teams since 2002::
# trips to DL: 3rd most
Avg days on DL: 3rd most
Total days lost to DL: 4th most
Some of the blame falls on the medical staff; some falls on management's penchant for older, injury-prone players. Either way, not good.

Nice to know it's not just a recent trend but more like a longterm sickness....
Oh wait, no it’s not. Shit.
i feel like most of the blame should fall on the front office
cause, at least until this year, we’ve manage to avoid injuries major unexpected injuries, it’s usually been the old injury prone players. I mean like 1/4 of those days have to be from Alou and Pedro. Plus if there was an issue with the medical staff then ultimately that comes back to the front office too.
Agreed
This seems like one of the younger squads the Mets have run out there in a few years, and until this year, most of the big injuries seem to be ones you might have expected. The horses all stayed on the field, save the odd quad flareup from Beltran.

Medical staff needs a nice little evaluation here.

speaking of old guys and water slides
It also reminds me of the time I saw this 60 year old man slide down one of those things, and he was going so fast his bathing suit fell off, and I just stood there and stared at his big, beautiful, hairy… wait what were we talking about?
All of the mets fans hope that we will not see the bad news mets ever again.
