Murph
getting as good as Delgado was on getting those throws coming from Wright.
Sigh….
by MetsFan4Decades on Jul 12, 2009 1:37 PM EDT reply actions
what happens to murph when delgado gets back?
i assume late inning defensie replacement and occasional start

since murph went 2-4, he's gone o fer
Have to bench him. Jerry, you gotta bench him. Play Tatis instead. Or, you have murph bunt.
I’m sure he;ll do that

You down with OBP?
No, not French-ie!
2 at bats, 4 pitches.
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but Jerry abuses the privilege.
At least it was a halfway decent at-bat...
much better than his 1st

When did we learn how to score runs like this?
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but Jerry abuses the privilege.
when
Omar made roster moves (Pagan up, Evans down, Frenchy for Church) that finally made Jerry to play the same (correct) lineup twice in a row.
Where has this been?
Keep the same damn lineup after the break and see if we can save this godforsaken season. It finally appears to be working.
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but Jerry abuses the privilege.
And get rid of Livan
so that our pitcher’s can keep us in games
by Jadden Hopkins on Jul 12, 2009 2:14 PM EDT up reply actions
Yup
Cut Redding, move Livan to the pen (his rubber arm would be nice there for some cleanup work) and put Niese in the rotation.
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but Jerry abuses the privilege.
we should be next until next week

It's too early to worry about Philly games
The Mets just need to win their own. They have enough games against Philly that they can make up the difference.

Still think we need one more move before we can realisticly think about catching Philly.
I’d like to see about grabbing Johnson out of Washington. This would allow Manuel to platoon Murph at third and give Wright a day off in the second half when he needs it.
I still want Rios, but I doubt it happens with the Francoeur trade.
I really think Delgado will be back soon enough that Omar has to look for an upgrade to the OF.

and the Reds are actually ahead of the Mets in the standings… This is what keeps me still optimistic. Most teams in NL are simply bad.

thanks...
I turned on the game later. So is it set that Livan gets start against the Braves, or is there a possibility that he gets pushed later against the Nationals – against which he’s been great so far. I mean, the Mets have potentially 6-7 starters they can use for the Braves/Nationals series after AS. They can pretty much tailor the rotation against opponents.
7 run lead
throw fucking strikes.
Omar and Jerry, dumbest tandem in baseball and winning in spite of them.
Wright didn't look like he was giving a pep talk there
Looks like he gave Pelf an earfull.

Wus up with the Mets constantly chasing pitches out of the Strike Zone?

It wasn't set in stone
Look at the some of the games the Red Sox (a very good team) have played lately. I’m grateful to still have the lead.

Frenchy swings at Ball 2
Same pitch Castillo swung at.
That seems to be their specialty
in the late innings. “We’ve already scored nine! Why would we want to score more?”

I get the feeling that he likes havin a guy at first
Wierd but I woder if he likes the possibilty of a DP ball and a play at two bases. Just in case he gets into trouble late in a count.
7-0 in the fifth, 9-3 in the eighth
Tying run at the plate in the 9th.
Why am I not surprised?
After Tatis's homer
Fangraphs had us at 99.2 chance to win
Well, now we're one out away
So it’s very high. But I would’ve liked to know what it was when they had scored a couple of runs and had bases loaded, 0 out in the 8th.
