Go National League
Over under on how long Wright stays in?
3 innings.
"We have to find a way to play better, there's no doubt. Overall. I'm not pointing fingers at anybody. Offense, defense, pitching -- we have to find a way to play better. The reality of this is, coming here to Pittsburgh and being swept -- personally, I feel embarrassed." -- Carlos Beltran
I really hate Tim Lincecum's hair
hell of a pitcher though
"We must win and we must know how to win rather than win because we have statistical people."
Say what you want about the All Star Game
Pre-game intros are still cool. Joe Nathan and Brian Fuentes are giants. Or they’re standing next to really short dudes.

Zimmerman
is going to take some of DWrights playing time.

It still sucks
that Ian Kinsler got the shaft

That and about
10 other bullshit selections/snubs
I think Matt Kemp has got to be the biggest snub. 4.2 WAR. Maybe if his own manager knew not to bat him 8th.
"We must win and we must know how to win rather than win because we have statistical people."
Don't get me started on Victorino.
It sounded like he got the least amount of applause
"We must win and we must know how to win rather than win because we have statistical people."
I was actually surprised by all the booing
Isnt this supposed to be cheerful, friendly, baseball-loving St. Louis? They really booed the shit out of some of the other NL Central players.
prince got huge boos all last night
at the derby. they love howard though, he’s from there.
David Eckstein: so gritty they would eat him in the south for breakfast with some butter and sprinkle cheese.
Never mind that
How did Michael Young get in this game? I know Longoria is hurt, but aren’t there like 5 better third basemen in the AL?
like who?

Scott Rolen?
Lopez wants it away, and it's hit deep to left center, Andruw Jones on the run, this one has a chance... home run!!, Mike Piazza!, and the Mets lead 3 to 2!!

That's all I got
He should have gone instead of Figgins
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but Jerry abuses the privilege.
Inge, Figgins, Rolen, Crede, and Teahan
all have higher WARs
"We must win and we must know how to win rather than win because we have statistical people."
I just want the second half to start
I can’t wait.
Come on NL

Derek Jeter

Laying it on a little thick, aren’t we Joe Buck?

Ahhhhh that makes a lot more sense
though the camera did close up shots on Jeter while he said it
"Look at me! I'm Tomokazu Ohka of the Montreal Expos!"
man, the universal Fox Sports advice still holds good:
Para evitar la idiocía de McCarver y Buck, utiliza el botón SAP para escuchar en español.
Chance Wright strikes out in his first at bat?
50%? 100%? He has looked really bad against any decent pitchers.
Hi everyone!
Let’s go National League!

"If there was ever a man dying inside, it must be Jerry Manuel" - Vin Scully
Lincecom is horrible
Not that it matters. This is just an ASG.
I do have my doubts this guy wins a Cy Young last year pitching in the NL East. Not mention make the ASK game this year pitching in the NL east having to face the AL East.
Who doesn't belong and why?
A) Albert Pujols
B) Hanley Ramirez
C) Chase Utley
D) David Wright
E) Raul Ibanez
F) Ryan Braun
Hahaha
So it has been decreed, and so it shall be.
"Look at me! I'm Tomokazu Ohka of the Montreal Expos!"

Replacements are my second-favorite band

I think the only way Halladay goes in the division

Lincecum is having a better year than Haren
Both spectacular though

What about WINS!

I dont think so. Guys are hitting .189 off him.
He gets killed by the HR’s at Chase Field. AT&T is a better park to pitch in.

he has been a bit lucky in BABIP
His career is .297 but this year it .245. Lincecum’s is .313. It’s really not worth arguing, they have both been phenomenal to say the least.
"We must win and we must know how to win rather than win because we have statistical people."

I don't know
Reyes is a good player now but if you trade him to Boston to be around real gamers like Youk and Pedroia he will really thrive. On the other hand, the Mets need to admit this season is lost and get some prospects and wouldn’t you and all the other Mets fans enjoy Wright killing the Yanks on a regular basis?

"We must win and we must know how to win rather than win because we have statistical people."
I didn't even see the whole game, but allow me to say this:
The National League is an embarrassment to itself, from everything to the player selection, to the lineup construction, to pitching decisions and substitutions.
The NL deserves to lose year after year, given they way they go about approaching this game.
We've got ourselves a ball club, the Mets of New York town!
Agreed
Problem with the NL it seems that they have a few long term players that are great and then a few two year flare ups that make it.
I didn’t like Lincecom as a Cy Young winner and I didn’t like him starting this game. Last season he pitched in a very weak NL West. I’m not so sure the records of a lot of those team in West are gonna hold up this year as many of em have had a fairly easy sched to start things off.
I also think the fact that a lot of teams in NL East had to face off against the AL east skewered the numbers a bit.
Doesn’t seem that you see a lot of the same faces in the NL All Star Team for years on end.
