Lets go get em, Big Pelf...
When need you to go more than 5 innings baby, lets ride this little streak.
Big start tonight for Pelfrey no doubt
Lets hope he can keep the momentum going.
Marquis
I’m not sure what his fip is, but he’s never really impressed me. He almost always gives up way more hits than innings pitched, and he doesn’t have a strikeout pitch. He must really be keeping it on the ground this year, like Piniero, which doesn’t bode well for the metsies. I predict either Schneid or Murph contributes to the “power surge” tonight.
Is there an FAQ for FIP, WAR and all the rest of these newfangled stats
for those of us who grew up on W-L ERA and the hell with it? ;)
that phone call would go something like this
Minaya: Adam, I’m sorry, but I stand by what I said, you know what I’m saying? But I’m sorry, I just picked the wrong place, you know what I’m saying?
Adam: You tried to ruin me. You’re despicable.
Minaya: Okay, well we have this new job that just opened up, any interest?
Adam: Are you kidding?
Minaya: No? Well, how about a Fresca then? Hmmm…hmmm?
He gave us 7 innings
but i don’t think he has gone 8 innings yet

Last night
Could not get to sleep after the Tatis grand slam. Too excited. Hope for the same tonight. I think this patchwork team is growing large ball$.
I'm atually good with that
Wright gets on base Murphy is gonna get some pitches.
That sets up Francouer nicely.
I think that works too but
I think Murphy might see some better pitches given that Wright can hit some doubles and is a threat to steal when he gets on board.
David needs to really shorten his swing....
He’s always late, that prevents him from hitting HR’s… i
How is Iannetta's arm
Would like to see David start running again, he’s taken a break.
Me too
when was the last time he tried to steal.

I don't think many of those NL West teams are really very good
I think they have the benefit of spending the month of June against the AL West.
Our division got stuck playing the AL East.
Things are starting to even out now.
Buccholz, Bowden, Westmoreland for Halliday.
Is that for real? (Just saw a reference on a Red Sox board, but it could just be rumor / humor)

Apologies to Sullivan but
left field (and the 6th spot in the lineup) is an utter black hole. Can’t we bring Evans back up? I’m trying to jinx a hit.

I stopped watching BBTN last season
no particular reason why — I think I’m usually watching Simpsons reruns or Family Guy. I’m usually way behind on who the hot kids are.

Who should we be rooting for between ATL and FLA
I mean, besides widespread bouts of the plague.

Yes, but that would merely ruin their crops
And what would become of their children then?

I'll say Florida
Slightly less of a threat than Atlanta. Braves have really good pitching (rotation and pen) and offense is improved with Mclouth.

PUT IT IN THE BOOKS
Pelfrey and the bullpen were superb. Only 5.5 out. This season is far from over.
Tremendously impressed with Pelfrey tonight
Lets hope he keeps it up

I wanna say it
but I won’t.
Superstiscion.
Frenchy once again with another RBI driven in...
At this pace, he’ll end up with 80+ as a met.
Another Win
4 in a row now. Could it be we hit rock bottom after being shut out by the Nats, and have no where to go but up? Of course. Waiting for Phillies to collapse in September with 7 game lead now.
Can't worry about the Phillies anymore...Let's focus on the wildcard.....
…and if the Phillies do collapse while we are trying to get the Wildcard, it will be a very welcome surprise.
Agreed
Very unlikely we’ll catch the Phils. It would be welcome, but let’s focus on one step at a time. First step, back over .500. Next step, back to the playoff picture. Then we’ll see where we go from there.
I don't need no instructions to know how to rock!
wait a minute the Mets are ALIVE
it was only a few days ago that i was willing to give up on the Mets as a team, and a franchise. Then they hit me with a pinch hit GS for the go ahead runs and then a shutout. Two things i thought i wouldnt see again until some 50-10678 years from now. What a surprise.
Dare I say it Again?
