Mets unveil new Players Choice gear

Six Mets get a chance to show off their design capabilities, or lack of them, with this new series.

I personally think they could have picked a better bunch.
JJ Putz (Set-up man, really?)
Omir Santos (SHORT SWINGZ)
Gary Sheffield (One and done?)
Bobby Parnell (Middle Reliever why?)
John Maine (No. 3 or 4 starter at best)
and Daniel Murphy (perhaps the only one with lasting selling power)

I don't really get this

but I’m pretty much the target audience for that parnell designed camo-hat. That is full of win.

The worst part about this

is trying to decide wether or not any of these guys will have prominent roles with the Mets next season. I’d buy the Murph gear if I knew he’d be here and used, but will he? Same with Sheff.

the Sheff jersey with his face in the numbers is awesome. I would proudly go into a Queens club wearing his Afflication-esqe T shirt with his name written across the front. Also, if the players really had any say in this Putz is going to be a Padre next year. One last point, I hope that Murph has been picking out this whole Irish angle (which I think he has) with the Dropkick Murphy’s batting song and all these green shirts because whoever brands the players in NY are pretty uncreative. For example, Kaz Matsui coming out to the Enter the Dragon theme (which didn’t really make sense) but I believe he picked it out so it was ok, but worse was playing Italian songs for Gallo which he stated he didn’t understand and didn’t like.
