Mejia and Flores Named To Futures Game Roster
Jenrry Mejia and Wilmer Flores have been named to the World roster for the 2009 Futures Game. Flores is the youngest player on either team and one of just six players at Low-A ball to make the rosters. The selection rules dictate that a maximum of two players per organization can be selected for the game.

In keeping with the trend this year
I’m much more interested to see these guys than the Mets in the big league All-Star Game. I’m not sure if Mejia will be allowed to pitch given his current restrictions but Flores figures to see plenty of action.
He had a rough day today
0-4 with 3 strikeouts and a walk

Who cares
we’re always gonna be lookin’ to next yr with this stupid team….
Please, no more extracurricular games.
That means: no more WBC; and no more Olympics (let the college and, maybe, minor league players (e.g. Argenis Reyes) play. And I’m done with Home Run Derby’s and All-Star games while I am it. So, that means, David Wright, KRod, and Johan better come up with some nagging “injury” so they can get a few days extra rest for the second half run. “Second half run”? I can’t believe I’m even saying those words.
