NY Mets At Bat/Entrance Music
I've seen this other places, so I figured it'd be fun to create a list of the music that is played when Mets players come up to bat/in to pitch.
Here's what I know:
Daniel Murphy- What I've Done by Linkin Park , Shipping off to Boston by The Dropkick Murphys, This Town by O.A.R.
J.J. Putz- Thunderstruck by AC/DC
Francisco Rodriguez- Sandungueso by Tego Calderon
Carlos Beltran- El Esta Aqui by David Y Abraham
Johan Santana- Smooth by Carlos Santana
Mike Pelfrey- What I Like About You by The Romantics
John Maine- Seek and Destroy by Metallica
Oliver Perez- I'm Gonna Get You by Bizzare Inc. (according to an online source)
Ryan Church- Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne
Jose Reyes- El Mudo by Chacaron (According to an online source)
Wilson Valdez- Rock You Like A Hurricane by The Scorpions
Gary Sheffield- Swagger Like Us Remix by Kanye, Jay-Z et al
Bobby Parnell- 8 Second Ride by Jake Owen
Billy Wagner- Enter Sandman by Metallica
Cory Sullivan- Icky Thump by White Stripes
Nelson Figueroa- Lose Yourself by Eminem
Feel free to add more if you know any I didn't mention

D Wright used to have You and Me by Cassie, but I’m pretty sure he doesn’t use that anymore.

I’m pretty sure that’s the wrong Carlos Santana.

That’s not quite the Carlos Santana I was talking about, haha.

Wilson Valdez was
“Rock You Like A Hurricane” by the Scorpions, which was absolutely hilarious.

Superman Theme by John Williams

But he switches
between the Superman theme and something else. I think he hits better with the Superman theme. Does Elias keep those stats?

I'm just waiting for someone
to come out to something less saccharine. Ideally something utterly offensive … maybe some Misfits? Tell me you wouldn’t enjoy a player come up to bat while Braineaters blares over the PA?
by Zwill on Jul 6, 2009 6:33 PM EDT up reply actions 1 recs
Braineaters!
Yes!
Ballplayers have no taste, unfortunately.

Will add Schneider when I (or someone else) remembers which Creed song he comes up to.

Carlos Delgado would come out to Rompe by Daddy Yankee
For his third or fourth AB.

Did he still use that this season? I knew he had used it in the past, but I wasn’t sure if he still did.

Parnell
Warms up to a song called 8 Second Ride by Jake Owen.
The best mainstream closer-music choices that all Major Leaguers have somehow missed, I think, are Metallica’s “Master of Puppets” and Dr. Dre’s “Keep Their Heads Ringin’.”

Wagner
Metallica, “Enter Sandman”. Surprised no one’s mentioned that one yet.

I actually thought about putting him on there when I first made it, and he was the one that skipped my mind.

I want someone to bust out into Iron Maiden’s “2 Minutes to Midnight” or “Aces High” one of these days. That’d be AWESOME!!! \m/

Wright's Lil' Wayne walk-up song
the beat is actually a “Fear of the Dark” sample

I know I'm in the minority here
but I would love to here some of these guys come out to something that no way gets you pumped up. I always thought it would be pretty funny if a guy comes up in a big situation, late in the game with men on, and instead of hard rock or hip hop, they start playing like When I’m Sixty-Four.

Yes
Agreed wholeheartedly. “Up Where We Belong” or “Sometimes When We Touch” would be good choices. Try convincing a Major Leaguer to try that though.

I always said that it would be great if someone came out to
“Most of All You” as a Major League tribute.

I’ve always thought about that a little bit….the Barney Theme Song anyone?

Wow
did Big Pelf lose a bad bet or something? What I Like About You? Sounds more like a song that should be used in a League of Their Own than in the MLB.

That's the winner
Never has a song been less appropriate for a player.

Personally....
I would come out to Holy Diver by Dio. Song is quite epic. Too bad I suck at baseball.

The last time I went to a game
Pedro Feliciano came in to Steppin’ Out by Joe Jackson. I’m pretty sure that was just a random selection though.

It's insane
how that Spanish song has been Beltran’s entrance ever since he came to the Mets. Four and-a-half years of the same thing! I still like it, though, and it’s obviously worked.
On a semi-related note, does anyone remember Miguel Cairo’s entrance song during his brief tenure with the Mets? It sounded like the background music to the video game for a Pixar movie. Cheesiest, most boring thing ever.

Jeremy Reed
Only comes out to Mobb Deep songs on the infamous album Shook ones Part II and Survival of the fit.
Also, how can you forget david wright coming out to DMX we right here the last two years.
I’ve been MIA for awhile because of the mets awful play. I went to Philly and saw Santana vs Blanton, that game was horrible, but the stadium was nice and even Castillo hit one out in batting practice.

A couple more...
Cory Sullivan- “Icky Thump” by White Stripes
Daniel Murphy- “This Town” by O.A.R. (added into the mix with I’m Shipping up to Boston by Dropkick Murphys and What I’ve Done by Linkin Park)
Nelson Figueroa- “Lose Yourself” by Eminem
Jeff Francouer- I believe one of his songs is called “Chicken Fried”, not sure of the artist
