I feel horrible
for the first time all season. I picked the Mets to lose in the swag. What kind of fan am I!

umm...
Give up 24 Earned Runs in 5 games
Walk 21 batters
Average over 2 hits/walks per game
become the first Met back even though he was the last one we wanted.

I have a tough choice here
Watch the ESPN coverage, which means Steve Phillips, or the Dodger coverage, which means Steve Lyons (awful to the point where you cringe when he tries to force jokes). Could always choose mute I guess.

Can they score a run?
Runs and home runs are like small victories now. It’s like this team is Bill Murray in “What About Bob”: “baby steps to catch the pop up, baby steps to first base….”

ESPN really knows how to pile on when the Mets do bad.
They seem to forget about the injuries and just say “How can you lose that many games with that payroll”

Mackey Sasser was my favorite Met when I was about 9. Then he melted down because he couldn’t throw either. Some similarities there.

Nothing worse than walks by your pitcher. Also, saw your comment at the latest B & C Mets post – I didn’t even bother to comment but the guy mentioned that there were “rumblings about Livan being named to the All Star team” and he was serious. I had like 3 fat jokes involving Livan’s stomach rumbling but I decided against it.

The only reason Livan would be named to the All-Star Team is if Charlie Manuel decided he wanted to tire out the entire Mets roster.

SF Giants
If they were to make it to the playoffs, it’d be Ya Gotta Believe Mets ‘73 style. Excellent pitching from Lincecum, backed up by Cain with help from Zito, Johnson, Wilson, Romo and Affeldt. But that lineup healthy, is as bad as the Mets’ current lineup.

They remind me a lot of the mets from 07
The 07 Mets were famous for either splitting series or blowing the third game in series they won the first two.
The Giants I’ve noticed have the same issue. They have only two sweeps on the entire year against NL foes and two others against AL foes. Looking at the lack of killer instinct on that team has me picking them as this years biggest chokers.
Today they lost 7-0 against the Marlins. A team they won the first two games against.
Their last series they blew the last game against Houston.

and with $85-90million already guaranteed
to a mere 7 players in 2010 (Castillo, Reyes, Wright, Beltran, Santana, Perez, F-Rod – plus a couple million here and there for buyouts)?
The Wilpon’s may take on some added salary for 2010, say up to $150million, but adding Roy’s $16million and then a lucrative contract extension on top of that?
I love Roy, he’s the best pitcher in the game, but he’s 32 and has had some injury issues in the past…and he’s a Mormon.

Wright probably is not going to be the big leader
or captain type a lot of people think he should be.
I think he has leadership qualities but not the kind where he’s the guy you look to everygame in the locker room. I don’t think that’s his comfort zone.
Nothing wrong with that.

I'll go ahead and say it.
That makes up for the drop at Florida earlier this year.

I can't say that
that cost Santana a win. Anyone but Santana…but not him. Santana allowed ZERO earned runs and lost.

Guys on Espn are saying he got him
Which I’, kinda surpised.
Either way, if he was safe makes up for the crappy call on Castillo last night at third.

That was awesome!
It was probably a tie, but I don’t care.

ESPN
Better show that as THE top play on SportsCenter. Especially after those damn lowlights we were forced to see.

Who cares about ESPN
seriously who really cares what they do or say. Stop watching them and their power to annoy the shit out of you totally disappears.

Stop wishing and do it
I havent watched them in years. And my sports IQ has gone up exponentially every minute I dont watch their stupid programs. They are simply terrible and should not be rewarded with ratings.

My girlfriend doesn't understand how incredible the play was!
She said: “It was no big deal. It was a coincidence. She could do it.” (Falling down laughing)
I guess I should just be happy my girlfriend is watching the game with me.
