Ben Sheets "Status" (or lack thereof)
One liner on it looking like Sheets won't pitch this year. Now that the draft has (long) passed, Sheets would not cost draft picks for a team that signs him. Is he still worth thinking about for next year, or is it a terrible idea to add another question mark arm to the Mets' collection of question marks? I don't have anything really to say myself, but I'd love to hear what some of the people here think about Mr. Sheets.

I think it's worth a short-term, incentive-laden flier.

abso-damn-lutely.
If he puts it together, great. If not, it’s only money.
I'd be ok with him if it was elbow issues,
but guys with shoulder problems like his never seem to come back the same.

At least he'd be a good question mark
Most of our question marks are kind of meh to begin with.
Exactly
The question mark is more like, “Ben Sheets, yeah?” rather than “Olliver Perez?… Hello?”

Yep
An injury question mark who’s good if he’s healthy is better than an injury question mark who’s crappy if he’s healthy
Why not take the chance
He’s better when healthy than half of our current rotation. Give him a short deal with lots of incentives, the only downside is us being out whatever it takes to sign him.

Ben Sheets with arm issues
is still better than, Livan, Redding and Ollie

I'd love to see us go into next season
with Aaron Harang and Ben Sheets on the roster – lots of questions, but if either of them hit the upside, you have two very good pitchers in the rotation. If both of them hit the upside, the Mets have the best rotation in baseball.
