Meh. It will be interesting to see if the Mets ever shut him down for the season. In related prospect news, the countdown will resume when I return from vacation next week.

I was at the game. He was only going to pitch 3 innings anyway.
He had trouble in the first, but shut them down afterwards. He took 20 or so pitches to get out of the first inning, but only allowed one XBH. He retired 7 in a row from the last out of the 1st onwards. Perfectly respectable for someone who hasn’t pitched in over a month, and is still only 19 years old in AA.
And better news, Ike Davis was 2-4 with a 2B and a SO in his return from injury.

Mejia is 0-4 in AA. He’s obviously terrible. Please stop with your “optimism” and whatnot. The Mets have no farm system.

Any reports on Mejia’s velo? Back to normal? His command being off at the beginning of the start would certainly be understandable.

Yeah, what Meddler said.
He hit 95-96 in the first innings, but fell down to low 90s-high 80s by the end. However, that should be expected since his stamina is the thing most affected by the extended rest.
