The editorial from The Good Phight is here.

I'm not defending what this guy did. As far as I'm concerned he should be banned from going to any MLB games. But a lecture from Philly fans on inappropriate fan behavior?!? Really?!?

Do they need to be reminded of this?

While it's awesome that Dick Torino was golden showered

the unfortunate consequence is that Philly can now use this to support their claim that they AREN’T the worst fans ever.

They aren't ...

The whole Philly sports fan thing is overblown. I’ve gone to a ton of games in Philly rocking my Wright jersey, never had any issues.

People give them crap because of the overly popularized and distorted story about booing Santa that happened like over 40 years ago.

It's more than that

The batteries thrown at J.D. Drew. The Vet courthouse. The Tie Domi dust up.

Then on the same day this year they had the laser pointer incident and had a fan killed in a fight outside of CBP. They have a bad reputations across all sports.

That’s not so say they are all like that. The vast majority are just good sports fans. I’ve had great experiences with Philly fans. But their bad eggs seem to be worse than just the obnoxious fan. And they certainly should not be criticizing the bad behavior of others without at least acknowledging the prominent role their fans played in promoting the same type of behavior.

Not to mention Michael Irvin.

I dunno.

I remember seeing an Eagles game on TV a couple of seasons ago where the Eagles were going off the field at halftime with a lead and the fans booed them. In their home stadium. I guess the lead wasn’t big enough or something.

It’s like Philly fans are not happy unless they’re pissed off. I’ve never seen anything like it.

As much as I despise Victorino

I don’t blame him for pressing charges. The guy broke one of the relatively few rules for fans: you don’t throw shit at players, even if it’s just beer.

Yeah, soccer fans take the cake.

Even on the club level, they’re utterly insane. They do shit that Phillies fans would blanch at. I’m pretty sure no visiting player ever had to dodge a cup of vomit at the Vet.

Can Reyes file a police report for assault?

How can anyone like Dic Torino?

Especially a Mets Yankees fan. Even Philly fans think he’s a douchnozzle.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but Jerry abuses the privilege.
