Who would have thought that David Wright going to the DL in mid-August would be good news?

They should definitly shut him down for the year
Looks like his observational period went well.
No ICP or major Neuro defecits.
Just let this guy have his time off as there is no point to playing him now.
Next season we will have his 1000th hit to look forward to. That should be something worth celebrating for one of the classiest players in all of baseball.

Somehow, a chain of events unfolded that put Steve Phillips in a professional broadcast booth Sunday night so he could rip Carlos Beltran. Try to explain that in any other terms.

Watch as many as four games at once that don’t involve Omir Santos and Anderson Hernandez! Follow your fantasy players, various pennant races and west coast teams that you rarely see! Revel in the sensible baserunning and stellar fielding practiced by so many other teams! I can’t recommend it enough.

I heard about Wright this afternoon
I had been out of computer/TV/cell phone range all weekend. Honestly, at least this happened this year where we weren’t making the playoffs anyway. God forbid Wright is rushed back for a pennant race and the rest of his career is ruined. It’s not like the Mets have any idea how to handle injuries properly.
And on that note, if Beltran or Wright play another inning this season, the entire front office should be fired.

Goddamn that’s ridiculous. How is Nick Evans not being promoted? I dont think he’s a future starter or anything but gimme a break, let the kid show he can play. He’s one of maybe 3 players in this organization right now with a lick of power.
seriously, what has Evans done to deserve the doghouse?
What good does it do us to bring up another journeyman and career minor leaguer? Is Andy Green so much better than Evans, or is Evans so bad, that he doesn’t deserve a shot. We need to be thinking about our future, bringing up Green has no possible purpose, he hasn’t played in a major league game since 2006.
