You have to be careful into stereotyping individuals. David is a different animal, so to speak. How he is made up is a little different than, say, Ryan Church, in my opinion. That's not to say that one is better than the other, but they're different.
Jerry Manuel won't pass up any opportunity to call out Ryan Church will he? Saying passive-aggressive things like this makes Jerry look even more foolish, if that's possible.

Wow
Even looking past the fact that Jerry can’t let Church go, what the heck was he talking about? Was he saying that it wasn’t obvious after their experience with Church they shouldn’t have have automatically put Wright on the DL because Church was a wimp who couldn’t handle having at-bats that he couldn’t remember a day later? Davidoff is completely right. Both Omar and Jerry’s comments about why Wright wasn’t DL-ed right away implies that this organization just doesn’t get it.

If he just wanted to say that the
treatments/recovery for Wright and Church’s concussions were going to be different, he could have just stated that the concussions themselves were different as Church had two concussions in a three month period and how they happened. Instead, he pulls a lobby-esqe move, basically insinuates that Church is fragile (or perhaps not a gamer) and just reinforces that he never liked Church. I’m just going to go ahead and state that Jerry doesn’t like Ryan Church’s art.

seriously classless
And his syntax is hurting my head.
I wouldn’t let Jerry manage a lemonade stand. He would end up paying people to drink grape juice.

If he's saying that ones make-up determines how one recovers from concussions
then he’s just retarded. Is that what he’s saying?

That's how I read it
I should know better than to expect reason, but I was still hoping for more class than this. Can you imagine if Jerry were talking this way comparing non-sport health problems? Like saying Wright will respond better to chemo because “he wants it more”?

He's losing it.
Jerry’s scary obsession with all things Church is starting to rival AA’s with Francouer.
Did Church poison Jerry’s dog or something? This is getting ridiculous. At this point I wish Church would just blast away at Jerry and the organization rather than taking the high road.

Oddly enough this comment is the first mention of Francoeur in this thread.
Aren’t you the one that complains every time he gets brought up?

I personally think he has an obsession with Francoeur.

Wait, there's more
Manuel said, “With Ryan, there was always something thrown from leftfield – ‘We need to check that.’ That made it somewhat difficult to evaluate that particular situation.”
This isn’t even passive aggressive. It’s out and out calling Church a whiner.

Who knows, Church may have been a problem in the clubhouse.
He didn’t get the playing time his performance dictated in Washington, and he didn’t get it in NY either. It makes you wonder if something was going on behind closed doors that we just don’t know about. If thats the case, however, I hate to see Manuel airing that dirty laundry to the Media…it’s a very Ozzie-like move.

Please don't shoot!
Braves fan here…. Anyway, I just wanted to let you guys know that I thought we had a rough year with injuries last year, until witnessing what has happened to the Mets this season. It truly is amazing – in the bad way. Seeing Wright get hit the other night was horrifying, and I hope his recovery is complete. I just feel compelled to chime in on the Jerry criticism going on here, just a little. His obsession with bashing Ryan Church is dumbfounding. I have always like Church — when yall traded Millidge for him and Schneider I couldn’t understand why so many Mets fans were so incensed. So when I heard that the Braves had traded the French man for Church, I was double delighted — getting rid of a problem child while gaining a player I had always coveted for my team. I have a feeling there’s going to be some house cleaning in NY this winter, and if there’s not, you guys have every right to complain.

If there is no house cleaning
I am gonna go gangsta on Jerry and Omar. And I mean the real kind of gangsta not Jerry’s version. And I just called Jerry out on that.
