Heavy stuff's not coming down for awhile
I’d keep playing..
Fangraphs
It would be funny if fangraphs had the Mets’ chances of winning dropping even though the game was in a rain delay.
nice mets weekly is on

Castillo
his numbers really are pretty remarkable. I would say Omar got something right but we all know it was just dumb luck
Ibanez
regressing to the mean. Yet Ronnie and Keith have to claim that he is hurt so they can praise him as a gamer.
it's not
why would he intentionally hit the pitcher, he’s not stupid

if he was gonna intentionally hit someone
it wouldve been the number 8 hitter

last full fledged fight
2nd to last game of the 07 season against Florida
"Solo homers usually come with no one on base." -Ralph Kiner
we 1-hit the marlins that game
and L-Millz hit 2 HR, we won 13-0 IIRC
"Solo homers usually come with no one on base." -Ralph Kiner
I was at this game
Olivo charged Reyes at third base out of no where and L-Millz pointed to the sky and beat his chest(really at his own manager), Maine took a no hitter into 8th. Crazyiest game I’ve ever been to.
and the next day the Marlins showed up motivated as hell
and beat the shit out of us. Worst fight in Mets history
also there
my buddy who is a met fan but doesn’t know much about baseball didn’t even realize maine had a no-hitter going, so we decided not to tell him and jinx it. It almost work. Stupid little dribbler down to 3rd. I thought Maine would win 20 one day the way he was pitching that day.
because most of our pitchers arent good

Pedro did plenty for the Mets.
without Pedro, Beltran doesn’t come to the Mets.
without Pedro, Shea doesn’t sell out every time he pitches
without Pedro, the little run we had never happens
no see that's my problem with the legend
Beltran came for the $$. and even then he wanted the Yanks.

remember it was Boras who shopped him to the Yanks. It was Beltran who decided to be a Met
pretty good chance Pedro was part of it.
"pretty good chance" maybe
but i think making a causal argument is a stretch. It’s more accurate to say $$ is why Beltran is a Met. And also, I don’t remember that it was Bora$ and not Beltran—don’t most players want to be Yanks? Even so, I love him, but Pedro’s impact is overstated imo.
