Kazmir traded to the Angels
Rays receive Alex Torres and Matt Sweeney, as well as a PTBNL
"We’re very excited about the player that we can’t name yet, but also about the other two," Rays manager Joe Maddon said.
Sickels gave Torres a C+ and Sweeney an honorable mention before the season began but both are having good years this year. I'm really curious who the PTBNL is though. Conger?

decent haul
Depending on third guy, but Tores strikes guys out, although some control issues, and Sweeney can hit. Kazmir looked great his last start. Rays have Davis and Hellickson waiting in the wings (and Moore and Barnese down the pike). More than Zambrano would fetch these days, eh?
at least he wasn't traded back to us
I was scared that the farcical circle would be completed with Thole or Niese headed the other way.
Somehow, a chain of events unfolded that put Steve Phillips in a professional broadcast booth Sunday night so he could rip Carlos Beltran. Try to explain that in any other terms.

Some say the PTBNL is Wood.
That would be a nice get.

To recap, the Rays got more for Kazmir when his value was low
than we got for him as a 20-year old stud prospect yet to start his service clock.
