What did he hurt and how?
For the benefit of us GameDay viewers.
I see fielder’s choice so I’m guessing pulling quad/hamstring from running to cover first?

Knee or hamstring, he was grabbing his leg below his ass but the trainer was working the knee for awhile so it could be either one

PS
Maybe not on this team, but with any semblance of a healthy lineup I’d have Frenchy on the bench easily
by Pat Andriola on Aug 5, 2009 2:50 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I'd have him in the minors but whatever

He’s too good for his age for the minors. Bench.

This is the first time in the last 3 years anyone has ever called Francoeur too good for something

Its amazing
Franceur’s defense has been worth 1 run this year, while Church has been worth 3.6
Jeff has been worth -.1 WAR for the Mets, Church has been worth .3 WAR for the Braves.

You know walks are more important that strikeouts in that
A guy with 140 strikeouts and 93 walks over the course of the season is better than a guy with 90 strikeouts and 24 walks

no, he hasn't been
outside of today
he came into the day with a .292 OBP which included an IBB and 3 HBP’s

Shouldn't we just pinch run Parnell
It’d be so sad to see him hurt on the basepaths.

They only need 1 run to win today
So naturally they’re going to pile it on. Then when they need 9 runs, they’ll score precisely 0.

Ollie Perez warming up in the bullpen right now according to Howie and Wayne…..I don’t get it?
by ljshorty89 on Aug 5, 2009 2:57 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Maybe just a bullpen session
Pitchers do that on their off days, dont they?
by Steeeve on Aug 5, 2009 2:58 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Yeah, I figured, but don’t they normally either do that before the game, or well after the game ends? I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone throw a bullpen session during a game?

New plan every fifth day
Socks comes out to the start the game and in the 1st or 2nd inning he grabs his leg and falls into a heap. Jerry gets on the phone to the bullpen: “Get Wilson Figueroa up, looks like Starks is hurt again.”
Then Figueroa can come on as the long man and Jerry doesn’t have to worry about using that Socks fellow again for the rest of the day.
