Mets Acquire Jason Dubois From The Cubs
.289 /.370/.528 line in the minors. Would have been a good guy to add to Buffalo before the season. We'll see where he ends up now.

This makes me sick.
The Mets actually had a chance in May, June and early July and didn’t do anything to improve their roster and/or AAA depth. Now the season is effectively over — there’s only three more weeks of minor league games too boot — and now they see fit to make moves like this? It doesn’t make any sense, but these are the Mets ladies and gentlemen.
Even more confounding: Dubois is being assigned to AAA Buffalo. They’re not going to add a corner OF with a .900 OPS in AAA to their ML roster, but are perfectly content with Cory Sullivan (-2.0 range UZR in LF) starting games in left field.

btw, I have a question that mayeb someone can answer
how are SB and CS incorporated in wOBA?
"We're investigating the investigative procedure of the investigation of Tony Bernazard"---Omar Minaya (he really didn't say it but he would"
The Fangraphs version of wOBA
includes SB and CS. It’s roughly +0.25/SB and -0.50/CS. My understanding has always been that 3 SB is roughly equal to 1 CS so I’m not sure why they a ratio that’s much closer to 2 SB = 1 CS.
okay thanks

We have thrown so much crap at the wall this year
Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but Jerry abuses the privilege.
yeahhh new kid from Hampton Roads.
By the way, if the Red Sox are willing to play Youkilis in left field during a playoff run, why is it that we’re so anti-Murphy in left when none if it really matters?
ain't had enough...
because Youk doesn't embarras

That guy is the definition of a shill
He talks about a realistic way to get into the playoffs… and then says we’d have to go 21-5 against the Marlins, Braves, and Phillies

...they aren't mutally exclusive, you know...
and if the White Sox were the ones who claimed him off waivers (as is being reported), then the Mets COULDN’T get him anyway.
So stop complaining.

Fair enough.
But the point still stands, I think.

It is still the act of putting in a claim to show that the front office is putting some effort into improving the team
So stop being a tool for the Met organization.

If the white sox claimed him would we still have been able too?
I thought once a team made a claim the player is either pulled off waivers or traded to that team?
The Mets have the worse record so they had their chance at Rios before CWS.

No, they didn't
Alex Rios plays in the AL. Therefore every team in the AL had priority over the Mets. The Mets’ record is irrelevant unless every AL team chose not to claim him. All the speculation I’ve seen suggests that the White Sox claimed him (likely as a long-term replacement for your boy Jermaine Dye), which would make the Mets’ claim irrelevant.
If you don’t believe me, you can look it up anywhere on the internet, including Rob Neyer’s transaction primer:
(A) If only one claim is entered, the player’s contract is assigned to that claiming club.
(B) If more than one club in the same league makes claims, the club currently lower in the standings gets the player.
(C ) If clubs in both leagues claim the player, preference shall always go to the club in the same league as the club requesting waivers.
But we CAN'T claim him if the White Sox did, haha.
So what are you trying to say? We should have cut in line to acquire him, haha?

The Mets wouldn't have claimed him anyway
Because of their cheap “Oh my God” The Luxary Tax ways. Meanwhile, they waste big money on Luis Castillo, and Oliver Perez. Disgrace.
