Another game?
Really? This shit is brutal and it didn’t even start yet.
"We must win and we must know how to win rather than win because we have statistical people."
Lets go Nationals and Padres!
"We must win and we must know how to win rather than win because we have statistical people."
hey weve got 7 other teams behind us too
making a late run for #1 pick, gonna have to work hard for it

We are going to choke again
in September
by Jadden Hopkins on Aug 9, 2009 4:02 PM EDT up reply actions
yeah we'll go on a huge winning streak and miss the playoffs by one game
on the last day of the season
by KeithsMoustache on Aug 9, 2009 4:03 PM EDT up reply actions
And then Jerry and Omar get extensions
"We must win and we must know how to win rather than win because we have statistical people."
Who am I kidding
I can’t even pick the Mets to lose no matter how likely
"We must win and we must know how to win rather than win because we have statistical people."
well you can expect it
just not cheer for it

A high draft pick is the only thing keeping me sane right now
"We must win and we must know how to win rather than win because we have statistical people."
It would be nice to see Johan
lead the N.L in wins and be tied for the major league in win.At least that would be 1 good reason to talk about the mets
You know what that means
He’s going to throw a CG
by Jadden Hopkins on Aug 9, 2009 4:07 PM EDT up reply actions
Yeah we miss your
Powerful bat in the line up
by Jadden Hopkins on Aug 9, 2009 4:08 PM EDT up reply actions
this'll be a good game for frenchy
the strike zone is so big he might as well swing at everything anyway.
but we'll lose it
so it won’t officially count
by KeithsMoustache on Aug 9, 2009 4:21 PM EDT up reply actions
we will lose 1-0
on a walk,wild pitch,and error
by Jadden Hopkins on Aug 9, 2009 4:23 PM EDT up reply actions
yeah
he’s been actually doing a little better with that the last few games… decent at bat there
by KeithsMoustache on Aug 9, 2009 4:25 PM EDT up reply actions
Part of me wanted to see
Eckstein in the same game with Santos.Could you imagine Grission between those two
So contracts not withstanding, who should stay for next year ?.
Johan, Pelfrey
the entire bullpen except for Green. Yes, I would bring back Putz.
Murph, Luis, Wright, Pagan, Reyes*, Santos, Sully. Cora.
I think
the odds are better than even he comes back healthy next year. He could probably play right now but given the fact that it’s Reyes, speed is the name of his game, and he’s not willing to come back not 100%, he’s still out.
Now diagnosed with scar tissue behind the knee they’ll try and get rid of…
by MetsFan4Decades on Aug 9, 2009 4:41 PM EDT up reply actions
with a normal spring training,
Ollie will be OK next year. And with his contract, the Mets would not be able to get anything of value for him anyway.
well his average isnt bad this season
he at least gets the bat near the ball, but this looks like cold-streak wright
by KeithsMoustache on Aug 9, 2009 4:48 PM EDT up reply actions
Its so easy to K him...
just throw junk down and away. He’s gonna chase it.
Omar and Jerry, dumbest tandem in baseball.
And 64 Walks
and a .418 OBP good for sixth in the majors
"We must win and we must know how to win rather than win because we have statistical people."
At least not in the next at-bat...
Remember what happened last time he let two straight fastballs down the middle pass him? He got pissed and swung for a ball at his head!!
Look for Frenchy to go 1st pitch swinging next time….
The little things...
Phillies about to be swept by the Marlins. Victorino gets thrown out in CF by the ump for making a gesture on a ball/strike call. What a tool…..
For those that might be interested....
Howard up to bad with runners on the corners, 3-1 Marlins, 2 out. Ump calls strike 3 on a pitch low and away. Howard reacts strongly to the call “No goddamn way that’s a f—-ing strike!” as TV goes to commercial.
Marlins up in the next half inning, in the middle of an AB the ump ejects Victorino from behind the plate. Shane immediately jogs to the infield and picks up into a run as he approaches the conference, Bako and RyHo both restrain him as he gets hot at the ump. Dubee and Perlozzo barricade Vic in the dugout as Charlie gets worked up in conversation.
The crowd has been booing lustily for the last 10 minutes.
**************
Sore losers……
If it can’t be us, I’m rooting for the Marlins. ANYONE but the Phils….

Plus he had an 8-pitch AB today
Which is, somehow, more than he saw in his last 9 ABs combined.
SD lineup is actually worse than ours --and they still beat us.

not sure about the pirates
they aren’t much better than us if at all
If the Nats play .500 ball
We have to go 14-38 to pass them. Not even the Mets are that pathetic.
I guess it doesnt help
that my 2nd team is the Orioles. LOL @ me.
good at bat by MUrph
though ultimately out. Francoeur should learn from Murph

why isnt it on the scoreboard?

new segment at Citi Field: Hitting Lessons from Professor Murphy, replacing spanish from Professor Reyes
"We're investigating the investigative procedure of the investigation of Tony Bernazard"---Omar Minaya (he really didn't say it but he would"
haha lesson one
taking a pitch: all you do is stand there… do nothing
Francoeur: well it IS on the scoreboard….
Strikes out looking on 3 pitches his next 10 at bats
by KeithsMoustache on Aug 9, 2009 5:28 PM EDT up reply actions
lesson two
only take pitches that are balls. learn the strike zone
Francoeur does that and walks 4 times in one game. However, because OBP is not on the Citi Field score board due to an error, and the only stat on is RBI, and he didn’t get nay in a 10-0 win, he says fuck that and goes back to usual
"We're investigating the investigative procedure of the investigation of Tony Bernazard"---Omar Minaya (he really didn't say it but he would"
lesson three
Just because its not on the scoreboard doesnt mean it doesnt count.
Since this is presented to Francoeur on the scoreboard, he gets so confused his head explodes.

by James Kannengieser on Aug 9, 2009 6:40 PM EDT up reply actions
No argument.
Just pointing out the obvious. That’s all.
And anyway, why are you nitpicking how I post?
Is it a ban-able offense? Somehow, I doubt it.
Let me post how I want to post, okay? I concede that everyone here has superior knowledge of the game to myself. At least let me have the ability to post how I want without being nagged about it like I was married or something…
I'm nitpicking you trying to start the tired Francoeur debate
And since you have, I’ll point out that Francoeur has been sub-replacement level so far as a Met (that’s -0.2 WAR) while Ryan Church has been worth 0.7 WAR as a Brave. Francoeur sucks and has no business being on this team past this season.
